Help! Vomit on leather seat

Due to an unfortunate incident, we have vomit in the driver side seat of our Acura RDX.

Every drop (or chunk) has been cleaned up, but the smell lingers a little, mainly because the vomit seems to have seeped into the leather seat padding. When the seat is pressed on, you can get a whiff of the smell.

Any tips?

Thanks!

I have had a similar issue however it was on cloth seats. I used a product called 'Double-O' its a concentrated odor remover specifically for protein and meant to eliminate odors. What I did was I also bought a Hypodermic Injector (Came as a kit) and injected the solution into the seats. A few hours later the smell was gone...

Just my two cents.

An ozone treatment would do the trick. I love my ozone machine. It has made me a hero many times. I have not encountered a smell it has not been able to eliminate yet.

Do you need a ozone machine can you just use one of those ozone canister type ones? Or do you need the machine?

An ozone machine changes the actual air, including the air inside seat cushions, vents, and headliner. I would love to buy one real soon. I could probably convince the girlie-friend that it would make great use in the house.

What websites are you looking at to buy one?

Not sure what canister types you mean so I don't know the answer to that one. I will say you need to run the ozone machine for atleast 20 minutes with the car running and the a/c recirculating. I don't think a canister would be enough to do it right.

I use those cannister type ever once in awhile. They're like a flea bomb. They work, yes and no. Yes atleast temporarily. No on deep seated stuff, not lasting anyway. An ozone machine would be really nice.

Troy, that sounds good..20 minutes is not that long for that machine to work..it must be a great unit!!

I understand how having the vents circulating air helps but what does teh air conditioner do to help the ozone machine?

The A/C can have mildew problems for various reasons. So it's good to have it on to circulate the air and the A/C gets treated at the same time. You need to make sure it is on recirculate to properly treat the A/C.

I've never done it with the heater but have heard it solves odor problems coming from the heater too.
