HELP...Overspray On Brand New Car???

Hey everyone. I just bought a brand new Black Toyota Sequoia and I think that there is some white overspay on the hood and down the whole side of it. It's really light and I didn't notice it until I washed it with Dawn to prep for a Zaino application. I have limited detailing experience and NO Experience with something like this.

I tried the Zaino clay bar and it actually took some of it off on the hood, but not very easily. I don't think that I want to try to get it off with clay. Should I take it back to the dealer and have them polish it or should I try to take care of it myself?

I do not own a PC Orbital, but can probably "borrow" one from Lowes or Home Depot for a few days and return it when I'm done.

Suggestions PLEASE...

Thanks,

jan j

Look at the spots with a magnifying glass or loupe to make sure it is paint and not something else.

Detail clay is ideal for this job; it's the reason the product exists in the first place. Work small sections at a time, wiping off residue frequently.

You can take it to the dealer but all the lot boys are gonna do is run a buffer on it with some polishing compound. You can do that hack job yourself right at home.

If you have a mild polish like a SMR, try it on a small section to see what happens.

Don't be afraid to experiment a little. The goal is remove the crud with the safest methods possible. Sometimes that takes out of the box thinking and a little creativity.

RELIEF!!!

Mother's Detailing Clay is taking it right off. I guess the rest of my Sunday is booked.

Lesson Learned for any one else that's a newbie. Never prep a car under marginal evening/grage light!!!

Thanks for the input bretfraz.
