Between the bugs n my car from the move from VA to JAX, it's coming on love bug season. Going to be experimenting on how best to get them off. So far dryer tissue is in the lead.

Welcome. Yeah, remember those days from the time I lived in Lower Alabama. Fu-un I tell ya.

ETA: Oh, and for getting them off. First go with a little optic lean, ONR, or similar and let it well then wipe (gently) off with a microfiber towel. If they don't go off then do the same with an APC. The little buggers that are left after that go to an APC soaked towel and leave it on the spot for a bit. Clay will also work at that last stage but the little suckers will ruin a piece of clay.

Welcome!

The trick with bugs is patience. Soak them and wait. I have wonderful luck with just quick detailer (and that doesn't screw up my wax job) and a soft, short weaved microfiber towel. Never a bug that didn't come un-stuck!

Oh, and get them off as soon as you can. Their acidic fluids can stain.

I soak them as well, but use a different method. I soak a thin microfiber towel in my wash solution (ONR, car wash soap, etc.) then apply them over the bug-gy area and let them sit for about 10 minutes (maybe do the wheels). This method will remove even love bugs, usually with one swipe. It does not remove LSP either. Thick MF towels get too heavy when wet and don't stick to vertical surfaces as well

(Thanks to David F. for this tip when I joined this forum!).
