Griot's 6" polisher w/ 3" pads?

Hey guys. Looking to utilize a buffer for smaller areas that a 6" buffer won't get into. Has anyone put the 3" backing plate on the Griot's 6" DA? If so, how did it perform? I see a lot of people say the 3" DA is way under powered so I'm just looking for any other options for those tight hard to reach areas. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I've got a 3" pad setup on my old PC. It shreds through stuff with a cutting pad, you have to be careful.

I've done it, used to do it quite often before I got my 3" pneumatic.

The 3" setup worked fine for me on the GG 6", but as Dan pointed out, you gotta be a little careful with it as it's one quite aggressive approach.

Dan- I too had one of my old PCs set up that way, but I finally just couldn't stand it any more...too much vibration, too little work getting done. You can't imagine how well the 3" works on a powerful machine

Interesting, mine isn't particularly buzzy or anything. About the same as my GG6 on full power. I'd like a better setup but I use it so infrequently....
