Glass cleaning product for a waxed windshield

I would like some suggestions on products to use to clean my windshield, mostly of bugs that call it there final resting places once a week coming and going from my fishing trips.

I do wax my windshield so I don't know if that would be a consideration on what product to use and don't know if the glass cleaner would remove the wax each time.

thanks for any input

I think you would have to re-apply wax every time no matter what.... What wax are you using for your windshield???? Forgive me, but why using a wax?

I don't see any reason to re-apply wax every time. If you're not using some polish or heavy degreaser on the windshield, there's absolutely no need to reapply the wax every time. My Collinite wax lasts quite a few months on the windshield. Using a wax or sealant on the windshield will help repel water when it's raining. This helps keep driver vision clear and probably helps reduce reaction time during rainy days.

Most glass cleaners contain alcohol, so I guess maybe try just water or a QD...

The only thing that doesnt streak on windows for me is the surf city garage glass cleaner, so it might be a waste...

most of the time i use QD for everything outside (paint & glass) the vehicle, and stoners for the inside since i have tint...

Would you mind sharing your techniqe for QD on windows w/out streaking? Are you using a QD or a a QD+ (sealant or nuba additives)

Thanks.

i use and apply QD (FK425, last touch, etc) the same on windows as i do on paint. spray, spread around, and wipe off. i do this with AW as well, but not as often...

Do you lightly wipe off or buff off? Glass WW or regular MF?

Will, wipe enough to remove the residue. Both glass WW or regular MF will work fine. I'd prefer MF because I like to save my WW's to serve as a drying towel.

Wash with a protective shampoo then use a protective QD/Spray sealant

When I got bugs on the windscreen on my 2006 trip to FPV day in melbourne, I used Jeffs AJT to clean it. Before the trip I applied prime and AJT x 3 applied to it every time I stopped for fuel

The bugs came off really easy and the application of AJT each time boosted the protection

Since I don't use wipers at any time, the protection doesn't get stripped off or smear the screen.

You could mix up my favourite jeff's products together. 50/50 Acrylic Glos and AJT work brilliantly

Or Duragloss 921 and AW to clean and boost protection.

Glass cleaners have no place in my shop or on my vehicles.

I too use DG 521 on outside all windows and inside windshield but have not tried on tinted side of glass. Not sure if it would compromise the tinting...

However, the DG/AW (1 oz. AW in per 32 oz 521) on outside glass is fantastic. Easier than Stoners and leaves a nice slick surface. Best applied with one side of WW MF and wiped down with dry side. Rain doesn't stand a chance.

On a related topic, thinking of using some DG 501 marine cleaner on glass to deeep clean. The 105 worked great removing some wierd glue-like crud off glass when nothing else would...

Just a thought.
