Glass Cleaners

Beemerboy

Just One More Coat
I have been using Meg 10/1 glass cleaner for the last few months. I like the product but find that the windshield seems to have a smeary look in the light. What it kind of looks like is when you clean a car that has smoke flim. Its not really bad but I always have to go over with a MF towel wet with the cleaner then buff with paper towels.

I've heard of Stoners being good.

What are you guys using and what process are you doing.

Ive been using SprayWay for sometime now. Usually I spray it on, and clean the windows with paper shop towels (only if the window is especially dirty). After that I do them lightly again with a MF cloth, and then buff the window with a dry MF to get them clear. I am like you though, Beemerboy, I never seem to be able to get a completely streak-free finish.

Dave a little Spray and Wipe and a nice clean microfiber is all you need;)

and I mean a little:D

FROZEN

Its not that much I brought a gallon some tiem back and mixing it in a 10/1 will last a long while in my shop

Same here beemerboy. I use it at work sometimes. It's not bad but there are better cleaners out there. As far as the soap goes it's not that great. It has decent lubricity but not much for suds. I like gold class better. As for glass cleaner goes I use 4 stars now. It works really well. I'm confused right now though. All my windows just started streaking. I don't think it's the cleaner though. Perhaps it's my towels. I dunno I'll have to do some testing.

I just use isoprophyl (rubbing) alcohol and distilled water. About a 3/1 ratio in low humidity times and 3/2 ratio in the humid summer months. Spray down a couple of paper towels with it and start cleaning. I tried the denatured alcohol and had trouble with streaking, maybe I didn't have the mixtures right? For aftermarket tints and T-Tops I use the Sprayway.

So the Pink Car wash soap isnt all that great. ?
The glass cleaner sounds like a good deal for a gallon I really like the Detailer Line after gettin a couple of the products. Koop have you tried the Leather Cleaner and Conditioner. ? I have a bottle of it waiting for a good day to try out.

4 star works pretty good on "normal" windows, but Stoners is a much more potent product. I found that 4 star seems to get a bit streaky a day or so after use in hot and humid climates.

Ive foud that just about anything gets streaky in hot and humid climates.

Except for PB products, which just seem to work better. This whole revolution in his products quite frankly is scary.

Tass,

If you have really dirty windows or major viynl gas film, try Einzsett glass cleaner. Streak free glass comes from technique. I am still working on my window cleaning technique and I am 99% there.

I found a glass cleaner at the 1.00 store called Glass
Glo, it is the best glass cleaner I ever used. It is a vinegar, alcohol and water mix, it is green in color. For me I like it.
