OK I was interested in what would last longer - a general wax or a polymer sealant so I corrected my dock box which was heavily oxidized.

On the entire top I used my Flex 3403 w/ big wool pad and 3M super duty rubbing compound. Then the GG 6" with blue pad and Ultimate Compound. The result was mirror like reflection. I divided the box into two sections:

On the left side:
Ultima Paint prep
2 Coat UPGP

On the right:
Duragloss bonding agent
Pinnicle Souvaran

This is out in the sun 24/7 here in Florida so we'll see how they do...

That was my conclusion also. The Souveran is a beauty wax and will be gone in a month of sitting outside in the sun.

The 501 will be an excellent choice as it's actually made for boats so it should hold up pretty good. I'm thinking it will prevail.

actually I dug thru my detailing closet and came up with a much more valid test:

divided into thirds:
left:
ultima prep and paint guard

middle:
duragloss bonding agent and 501

right:
duragloss bonding agent and rejex

I'll set it up this aft...

I'm really interested in how the Rejex does. It's supposed to be the same basic formula as Nu Finish which as we know is 5.00 at Walgreens.

OK done:

I used separate applicators for everything and sep MF's to buff off the 501 and RejeX. I purposefully did only one coat of all three rather than layer it. Upon completion, they all three have the same gloss and depth starting out.

Interesting story about Rejex - I met the inventor (Ed) at a boat show a few years ago. He did not have much to add, except you could apply it in sun, it did layer ok but the big news was he said nu-finish is almost the same formula and works virtually identical to Rejex. He obviously had some connection to nu-finish but would not say how. I have done this NF vs Rej test on this dock box 2 years ago and they wore out identical to each other. It was as if I had used one or the other on the whole top....

Interesting it may have been one of your earlier posts where I read that. It was concerning using Rejex on wheels if I remember right.
