Garage Floor Coating by Home Depot

The Rainmaker
While at Home Depot, I noticed an in store ad for floor coating that they applied.
I didn't check into it since I'm not interested, but I did notice that at least one of the treatments had a 3 year warranty. That makes me think they must be doing the prep work that is needed for the stuff to last.
It might be worth looking into if you are considering it.

This says they'll use the Rustoleum Professional Product (Ultra). There's a big difference between their Professional and typical Home use product (Epoxy Shield). My friend used the cheaper product and it just isn't good. That said, I used the Pro product in the storage and mechanical areas in my basement. It was actually designed for garage use. I used the UCoatIt system in my garage. There is no comparison between the two products. I wouldn't recommend the Rustoleum product. It is less expensive but it didn't cover as well and it isn't holding up as well 3 years later. My basement is dry so that isn't a contributing factor. The UCoatIt in my garage is much nicer and looks brand new when cleaned up. Your results may very. I would be interested in knowing what they charge for the installation. It can be a lot of work. In all fairness there is one additional step that I used in doing my garage and that was acid etching the concrete. Both surfaces were about 6 months old and clean concrete when I applied the products.
