fresh tree & pine sap

Will soap and water remove sap that's pretty fresh/sticky from a maple tree? What about fresh sap from a pine tree? The sap has not hardened.

if u keep your car waxed/sealed... it should wash off no problem if its fresh

Ditto on that ... I went up to Maine a couple weekends ago and parked under a tree for the night (only place to park) and found my Accord dotted with small drops of tree sap. I did a search here while still in Maine and the alcohol route was mentioned a couple of times. However, I did try just using my standard QEW wash immediately after getting home, and the sap washed completely off. Of course, my car had been sealed with 2 coats of UPP a couple weeks prior and maintained with QS after washing.

Turpentine will remove stubborn tree sap. Wash it normally first and if it comes off great, if not a turpentine wash or a towel soaked in turpentine and rubbed over the sap areas will remove it.

Then rewax and don't park under trees :D
