Extractor machine recommendations for my needs?

I'm looking for a quality machine, I do about 50-75 cars a year and it needs to be able to hold up to the workload. I'm willing to make the upfront investment as long as it is going to last and be dependable.

I seem to be finding the best reviews on Mytee Lite II 8070 However it is a large machine and doesnt look very easily transported + it takes alot of fluid, more then I may need for a job at a time... Recommendations? thoughts? and where might be the best deal?

Durrmaid makes a few small machines that look more in line in terms of size and my needs, BUT I've read some questionable reviews...

Doesnt seem like their are many options of machines, or maybe I'm just looking in the wrong area? Any and all advice is welcome:)

Thanks!

gtochris- I have a Century (AKA "Ninja") and it's been fine, but I'm no Pro. I *do* think you oughta check around and see which machines have local parts/service available. That might be handy if it dies on you...Carpet/rug places in my area use Century extractors and it gives me peace of mind knowing there's local support for them.

I bought a Durr-Maid 1600. While I haven't used it on more that 20 cars yet, it seems like a solid product. I contacted the owner Dennis, super nice guy stands behind his product as long as you use your silicone defoamer in the machine.

I also bought the Durrmaid 1600. It just died on me a few months ago. While there is a 5 year warranty on the parts, Dennis the owner found a way to shut me down. His suggestion was to get it fixed locally. Thanks for nothing. A good machine but it will fail eventually. Like stated before, make sure someone can fix it locally.

Yeah, don't skip the defoamer. While you might think "eh, that's not really necessary..." it will prevent damage that you won't realize until it's too late. Especially if you're like most people and you use excessive amounts of carpet shampoo (yeah, that's a hint ;) ).

I think I'm going to buy the Mytee machine. Is it one and only one type of soap/ defoamer you can use in it? or anything will do?

My budget is under $700, just kinda disapointed with the low selection of options available!

Could you please rephrase that second sentence, I can't quite figure out what you're asking

I got my defoamer from Top of the Line Auto Detailing Supplies but you could check the yellow pages for a local pro carpetcleaning supply store and get it there. I bet all such defoamers are basically the same, it's just a chemical you put in the catch tank to make the foam die after you suck it up out of the carpet.

Mytee's are sweet. You may be frustrated by the Mytee light though. You may need to refill it 2-3 times for a dirty car. The HP60 is better in every way.

well, I guess I'm just unsure of what the defoamer does, or where it went, but from your discription, sounds like it goes in the catch tank and maybe controls the waste so it doesnt back up into the machine or damage the motor?

Does the warranty for the various machines only advocate certain products by certain brands? I've noticed a wide variation in pricing of the different machine soaps.

gtochris- Yeah, defoamer is just a powder that goes into the tank to remove the bubbles/foam so your pump/etc. only has to deal with "still" liquid. That way it's not trying to compress/pump/fill the catch tank with air (the air inside the bubbles).

I just use pro carpet cleaning chemicals and my Century extractor didn't say "only use this" or anything like that. Go with pro stuff or the Hi-Temp/house brand stuff at TOL. VERY cheap concentrates that go a long way.
