***UPDATE: START LOOKING FOR AVAILABILITY WITH YOUR RETAILER STARTING THE WEEK OF MONDAY JANUARY 26***

As many of you may or may not know, there has been a high demand for silver spray paint since Würth has had manufacturing issues.

Well, happy to report that 1Z N.A. will be imorting both their Silver Spray paint and Primer. Our Silber Spray paint matches the original Würth silver before they changed sources for their paint which in turn changed the color to a darker silver.

1Z Silber Spray matches MOST OEM German wheels. However, it will not match the specialized silver colors like those found on AMG, Audi (R)S Avus wheels and most BBS.

ETA on the Silber Spray is Monday 26 January. Therefore, dealers should have it available beginning late next week. We were expecting it earlier but Customs on both ends of the shipping line have been highly cautious because of the terror alert.

In the meantime, please note that Einszett does not offer a clear coat (Würth clear should be compatible but always test in an inconspicuous spot first) and we do not have immediate plans of importing Rallye Matte Black.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best regards,

Any experiance with Silber Spray & BMW Wheels. I'm still playing around with it but it doesn't seem to be a good match at all with OEM BMW wheels. It's a shade darker with the Silber Spray.

I'm still testing as I type. Just finished sanding it back down to *factory paint* and resprayed and it still appears darker. I will let it dry and see what the final outcome is.

Hi Jsoto,

The first set of wheels I tested it on were a set of standard 15" 5 spoke 2000 323i wheels I have lying around. It was a perfect match--not a shade lighter or darker.

All the shops that carry it, tested it before buying.

Not sure what else I can say...

Regards,

Well, I made my first attempt at wheel repair with Silber Spray followed by Wurth Clearcoat and am only somewhat satisfied. The results were decent for a quick fix, but nothing I could live with permanently. Overall, still a good product but it should only be used for very light touchups on a small section of the wheel i.e. only where the damage has occured. Overspray gets everywhere on the wheel that you dont want it to, so be sure to have allot of paint thinner on hand. I'd have to say my first experience was definitely trial and error.

ThreeSixT, thanks for your feedback.

Your point about overspray reminds me that proper preperation is everything when painting. By that I mean properly cleaning the surface properly removing all contaminants, wax, silicone and anything else that can prevent the paint from properly adhering.

Next: masking. When painting a wheel, be sure to mask areas of the component you are painting as well as surrounding areas you don't want to get overspray on. If you have the chance to head down to your local auto paint supply store, pick up some masking tape specific to painting cars (specific adhesive). It takes a lot of time to mask properly but it's worth it.

Thanks again for your review and feedback! :)
