A friend of mine told me that there are products out their that repel dust, he told me there are waxes and quick details. I did a search and came up with something called a FK452 but Im not sure what that is. (sorry for being such a noob)

Reason Im asking is I purchased a new Black Mini Cooper and I live in Las Vegas. Anyone thats been to Vegas knows that its can be quite the dust hole at times. Im wondering if anyone can recommend some products to help reduce dust build up in between washes, as well as anything else I can do to the paint to keep it looking its best.

Thanks! :xyxthumbs

there is nothing that repels dust

Finish Kare 425 is a quick detailer and it has Anti-staditic properties

so it does not attract as much dust and IMO it does work

Thanks BigJim ..

I just looked at their site and it looks like they have a whole line of Anti Static stuff (glass cleaner, shampoo, quick detail ect) Would using all their anti static products work good together?

Anything else I should use to keep dust to a minimum?

Definitely do not use a carnauba. Go with a sealant instead.

As bigjim said, nothing will repel it, just not attract it as much.

Hopefully the future is not too far and someone comes out with a product that actually repels it. Whoever that is will be a rich man

Dust is attracted by silicone and oils. Generally polymers have more oils in them, but none are very good for repelling dust. Swissvax makes a ptfe wax that is an anti-static, that may work.

Finish Kare makes some excellent products for a good price.

One's I like the best are the FK425 quick detailer spray, 1000P sealant, Interior cleaner/Protectant is my favorite of all interior protecants (I thinks its 108). There Car wash is also excellent.

Klasse VRLP is even better than FK 108 in not attracting dust but both are great. Both give minimal sheen to plastics and tires. I know that VRLP lasts a year for interiors and 6 months on my truck, no hyperbole. Fk108 approaches VRLP's performance and looks. VRLP is probably the perfect cleaner/protectant IF you like a matte finish.

Btw, the truck tires were initially gray but VRLP made them black again. Even after 6 months, water was still beading on it and staying black without any reapplication. Dashes also required minimal dusting even during pollen season. No haze formed on windshield. It restored faded plastic and is an outstanding cleaner.

I used FK425 the other day over fuzion. It cut down on dust for maybe half a day, but now my black car is pretty much covered in dust again. Nothing works to repel dust for very long.
