Hey new to the forum, I am learning a lot and I thought I would share a review of a product I found was worth every penny. They make the duplicolor coating in a clear coat type finish, which is what i would suggest to anyone who doesn't want to change the color of their wheels. This is great for brand new rims or for well cleaned and preped ones as well. But here is what I came away with:
1. Easy to apply, its in a spray paint can, you can figure out how to use it, 2-3 light coats at least.(just make sure you mask off your tires really well)
2.Coating dries fairly fast, but after its done it will be dull, polish it a bit, and they will pop just like a clear coat.
3. Real world conditions this thing is great, i have noticed a considerable reduction in brake dust, and so far i only have had to spray wash the wheels to get dirt and dust off. The most impressive thing about the coating is the strength. I used my keys to try and scratch a not very noticable part of the wheel and no scratches, not even in the coating itself. I was definately impressed, I feel this would help deflect rocks and other bits well.
So In closing I found this product useful, I highly recommend it for powder coated or painted wheels. For 6 bucks you can't beat it. I am unsure if it would perform as well on aluminum wheels or another metal surfaces:nixweiss
