Dog Spray

So new to me is the idea of a "dog spray" but i havea client that wants it cleaned out. Appently when a dog gets scared it secrets this rancid smelling juice. It smell horible, worse then dog droppings. Anyway this customer comes to me and asks if i can get it out. I have tried alot of stuff, 3 type of frabeeze(sp), megs odor elimnator, simiz oder stuff. as well as some other otc ones. Any suggetions of how to get rid of dog spray.. ohh ya i also shampood just aout everything to no avail. Thanks for any tips

Why don't you try that kids'n'pets that everyone here talks about.

I would shampoo it again with an enzyme cleaner and leave it open to air out all day. The smell may also be in the ac system so you may need to treat it as well.

Not in a car, but bought a cleaner at PetSmart that took the odor out of carpet.
I recall the label talked about it being "natural" so was probably an enzyme of some type.

You may be missing a spot.
Make sure you are totally covering the area.

The rancid smelling juice is from the anal glands. The secretion is usually tan to dark brown in color and has a "fishy" odor. It is a pain to get rid of.
The best product for elimination of the odor is X-O Odor Neutralizer. I use it to neutralize anal glands odors on a daily basis working as a small animal veterinarian.
Hope this helps,

Sludge:)

I have to laugh....Sorry. just the topic of anal glands.

Back on topic now........I have had luck with Kids n Pets folowed with another type of enzyme cleaner and odor eliminator.

Sludge.....Where do you get the X-O stuff from????

True Detailer....Good call on the AC system too. Alot of people forget about that aspect of it when it comes to odor elimination.:)

They use the X-O at work in the bathrooms..it does a great job....they have a cleaner also....I took some home when the puppy pee'd on the concrete floor...it took a week before I had the Pee smell..so I got x-o from work to wash the area and then spray X-O neutralizer...smell was gone in a minute and never came back...I sprayed it in my son's truck as it had a musty smell from leaving windows open in the rain..took the smell out and never came back..good stuff...but I do not know if it is a enzyme product or not...says it is made from plants...but it works...

Glad to read some positive experiences with the X-O product(s). I had attempted to source it locally, but the small shop that was listed as a retail outlet had closed its doors (permanently).

TexasTB,

We get it from a veterinary supply house. Some pet stores carry it, a lot of dog grooming shops should have it. If you have a janitor supply company they may carry it.
The company URL is : http://www.xocorp.com/products.asp They may be able to help you. It is great stuff.

PS, How is Kileen? Drove through there once, no plans to return! :lmfao
