Dog fighting at its worst

It`s sad what dog fighting has done to alter people`s perceptions of pit bulls. This idea that they`re mean is laughable if you`ve ever been around one. They`re big babies, it`s hilarious.

Don- heh heh, thanks for posting that :D

And to think that not-so-long-ago Pits were considered useless as Protection Dogs because they were (at that time) reknowned for being so gentle.

A friend of mine had 57 stitches in her forearm from a pitbull. The owner tackled the dog and it ripped the forearm skin and it was flapping.

Then after the owner fought with the dog for a minute or two he was able to get it in the crate/cage. Then because he is an awesome dude he shot it in the head. Gotta love NYC ....

A pit bull here where I live tore the scalp and face off a 4 year old boy. I know the boy`s father. The dog just charged out into the street and attacked the child. No provocation.

Everyone should know any dog can turn and become aggressive. Even the most gentle loving dog, it doesnt matter what breed.

Its very surprising. Just like people though. You always read how this or that "nicest person" commited some horrific murder or act of violence.

Scary world we live in!

True , but if I had to save a kid from the mouth of a dog, I would prefer it to be a black lab then a pit or rottie!

IME, it`s as much about the owner as it is about the dog. YMMV but...
Agree 100%. It`s how you raise them. No dogs, nor humans, are "born bad". Tough breeds are more potentially dangerous though, no question about it...just as tough humans are.

Bully breeds (along with Rotts) are the current status-symbol for the kind of people who shouldn`t own pets, with predictable consequences. For that matter, IMO *most* dog owners aren`t qualified to own them, but that`s another topic.

And yes, my opinions about dogs are based on decades worth of personal experience with all kinds of dogs, and I do mean *ALL KINDS*.
