This step cares for your windows, as they are just like any other surface on your car. They can become dirty with ingrained contaminants and scratched. By polishing the windows, they re-attain their clear perfection.

$10 (All Packages)

RainX -

This option is for added protection for your windows. This solution induces beading in the harshest of rainstorms and provides a clearer view of the road in some of the most dangerous conditions.

$5 (All Packages)

Paint:

Clay Bar Treatment -

This treatment cleans the surface of your car’s paint. Regular washing can only do so much, so this product lifts the dangerous industrial fallout, tree sap, oxidation and other contaminants off your paint’s surface to provide a “squeaky clean car, ready for polishing. 15$ (Gold Package Only)

Zaino / Klasse Treatment -

These two products are both high quality polymer sealants that eliminate the need to strip and re-wax your vehicle. They provide superior shine and last for up to 6 months!

$25 (Gold Package Only)

Interior:

Shampoo Mats -

For a complete deep cleaning of your mats, a gentle shampoo is the best solution. We clean and dry them so as to restore original coloration and remove ingrained dirt or sand.

$30 (Platinum and Gold Packages Only)

Spot Removal -

We use professional stain cleaners to remove most all organic stains in your car. Results vary depending upon the composition of the stain and the length of time the stain has been present.

$5-$15 (Platinum and Gold Packages Only)

Odor Removal -

Using a professional line of products we neutralize almost any odor with a clean scented solution. Should the odor persist, the fee is waived.

$10 (All Packages)

So there it is. I especially want help with the descriptions of the extras. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!! TIA!!!

good stuff, here's some minor things:

odor removal: spelling is "waived"

the "Paint:" heading-thing is kind of confusing, esp under gold package with the leather treatment next to it. Maybe simplify it and just have an exterior, interior, and engine section?

dunno about the professionals, but it took me 3-4 hrs to do a platinum thing...and I was rushing it a little.

does the regular wash include bug removal? or is that an extra

I would add 'big vehicle' charges too.

Doing a Plat job on a Geo Metro wouldbe a damn sight quicker (and easier!!) than something like an Excursion.

Same with jacked up King Cab Long Bed F-350s ... arggggggggg.

Odor Removal - Using a professional line of products we neutralize almost any odor with a clean scented solution. Should the odor persist, the fee is waved.

$10 (All Packages)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a jist of what I would change. Is $40 high for shampooing mats? A place I used to work at charged $3 per mat. All we did was pre soak it with a solution and pressure washed it. Have you thought about doing a interior or exterior only? Theres some things I missed but ill go over it again.

I know I take my time when detailing but how is it possible to do a full detail in/out in 2-3 hours?

It takes me a least 6 hours. :nixweiss

I would love to be able to speed up my process without hurting the quality of my service. I just don't know how?

Yeah, thats why I didnt include the time. When you tell them how long its gonna be, they probably make appointments according to that so be careful telling them what the max time is.

Hmm true, I didn't think the time thing through. I'll change that and also add a large vehicle charge (was gonna do it but forgot lol). As for the Exterior, Interior headings, I did all this in word and spaced it wierd so there were two columns. I didn't fix it before putting it in here :doh. Thanks for the spelling correction and keep the comments coming!

The best advice i can give is keep your packages simple and make them stand out. You also want them to be pretty close in price somewhat, it will make the customer think. Hmmm should i go for the deluxe package?

Here is what I have. Feel free to revise it anyway you like.

Hand Car Wash $20.00

Wash, Tire dressing, Windows, Vacuum. ( 15 minutes)

Express Detail: $40.00

Wash, Hand Glaze, Windows, Vacuum, Tire dressing (25 mintues)

(The above two make customers think, for 20.00 more i can get a real great shine. Most of my customers take the express detail instead of a wash.)

Detail $100.00

Wash, Polish, Glaze, wax, windows, tire dressing, vacuum, dash, door trims & jams. odor removal (2-3 hrs)

Pro Detail $150.00 (3 + hrs)

wash, clay, smr, glaze, wax, windows, tire dressing, moldings, vacuum, steam interior, dash, door trim & jams, engine, trunk, odor removal

Most of my customers when picking between the two take the pro detail.

I dont include compounding as i request to see the vehicle before hand. I need to make sure of the paint defects. I usually add $25 to the bill for compounding.

Wet sanding prior to detailing starts at $100.00 and up.

Paintless dent repair $75.00 per panel

Interior repair per estimate

textured bumper repainting $100.00 or by estimate.

I have to say though that sometimes for my repeat customers i through in a few extras here & there to make them happy.

Hope this helps

NYD

NYD, for your Express Detail, what is the hand glaze that you use? I'm just wondering because you don't mention a wax after it and I thought glaze removed wax.

I might be the odd man out here because I have not offered "package" deals now for over 11 years.

When a potential client calls me or asks me how much I charge I will always return with, "Well, what would you like done to your car?" Most folks shrug their shoulders as if to say...."Hell, I have no idea"

This then is where I am able to talk with them about the differences between a "wash-n-wax" and a true and proper "detailing". Most are used to the drive thru car wash on Saturday mornings or the hack job the car dealers do when their cars are serviced. This is where one should educate the potential client as to what is a delaer applied "speed wax" VS a 3 step polymer with a carnuba topper. How and why the local car wash tire dressing slings off and stains their cars paint. How they don't have to live with smeary windows that can be a driving hazard and what in their cars is vinyl and what is leather and how each should be treated.

Menu pricing is ok and perhaps a good thing to have but don't let it box you in, always make sure that the customer knows these prices are "suggested" only and extra work costs extra money!

Man, NY detailer, those are some fast times! Could the experienced detailers post their tips on staying organized and being efficient when detailing? I like to take my time when detailing, so I know that I could probably cut my times by at least a 1/4-1/3. However, I find that the main reason for being slow is that I'm always walking from my driveway to the house (laundry room) to get supplies, or trying to find some place to put something down, etc. I mean, 15 min for a wash + extras is crazy. I probably spent 45min on just the wheels/tires/wells of my mom's X5 the other day. Granted, I even busted out the mf gloves to get the whole inside of the wheel, but still...Maybe it's because even when I'm getting paid to do the occasional car, I treat it less like a job than you guys=less pressed for time...:nixweiss

Anthony: I am offering these "packages" as guidelines mostly. I am not going to limit what I do by what these packages list. It's just mostly for the customer to see what extra work costs. I will put a disclaimer, though, about the packages.

I used that Little Green machine from Bissle, but it broke on me, so thats yet another thing to add to the list. :( Anyone got any suggestions for steam cleaners??

Just a suggestion but when I look at this price list it seems like too much stuff, maybe it needs to be simplified. NY Detailers list seems so easy to understand and I can see how the customers jump up in price knowing they are getting more. Maybe it's better to leave prices off the extras and point them out when you go over the car or if your clients ask you about them. This way they think they are going to pay less, with all of the extras they don't feel they are getting the full package. For me I always need to look at a car before determining the price, I also explain that I charge more for suvs/trucks, you have to it is more work. I also offer an exterior detail but throw in a light interior vacuum with that.

Keep your packages as simple as possible...You are the expert..You need to advise the customer what "they" need...Not have them tell you...When the car leaves your shop it has your name on it..Since your work is your advertising, you have to be in charge of the results..When a customer shows a friend or co-worker they are not going to ask what package you got just what the results are!!...Do not charge surcharges for size of vehicles...In the 30+ years I have been doing this condition is way more important than size...I have customers that keep their SUVs better than some show cars...Reward them!!...I also have some customers w/their kids Honda Accords that look like a bomb went off and I have to spend 50% more time on those than an SUV in great shape!!...If you charge a rate based on condition and time rather than size you will train your customers and see them more frequently..If you do a smaller car and feel once you have gotten into it you have charged a little too much give the customer a complimentary wash coupon letting them know it was overestimated and you will have a customer for life!!....

I am trying to keep them simple but at the same time convey to the customer just how much there is to be done. I meet blank stares all the time when I tell people I detail cars. Most all of them think that a wash and a wax is all you would ever need to do to a car. With these packages discriptions I try and show the customer that it's not something they can do themselves which is why they would come to me in the first place. Its a sorry attempt at mind games lol.
