Detailing New Car Question

I just picked up my new car Thursday and wanted to detail it before the winter here in Upstate NY. I am new to detailing & am going to use Klasse products (after washing & clay bar). Since the paint is new should I use the Klasse All-In-One and then the Super Glaze, or just the Super Glaze?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Hey, welcome.
I would consider having a slick soap, then picking up a clay bar kit. Probably the All-in-One isn't necessary if the paint is perfectly smooth and clean after claying. Then apply the SG, but apply really thin. Repeat the SG after a few days or in a month, but don't AIO then or you'll remove much of the old layer of SG.

For a new car my process would be:

1. Wash throughly
2. Spot New car prep to remove adhesive or tar
3. Clay, if needed
4. AIO (Check out my signature) New cars can have dirty paint and KSG application and removal will be easier.
5. Sealant or wax of your choice. KSG in this case.
Other things to do:
Protect wheels
Protect wheel wells
Dress tires
Clean glass
Clean and protect interior plastics and leather

What kind of car did you purchase? Was the car prepped by the dealer? Was the car on the lot a long time?

Congrats on the new purchase! I would follow what schwab1 said, but when you say the paint is new it still could have some heavy dealer installed swirls. It is swirled or hologrammed? If so I would suggest a swirl remover prior to AIO and then finish in the order schwab1 said. After you have got the finish to where you want it I would put 2-5 coats of SG on it. This should really protect while giving you a blinding shine. But, like schwab1 said dont do an AIO in between coats of SG for it will take the preceeding layers off.
Good luck!

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions!

I washed, clayed, one coat of AIO and one coat of SG. I'm going to apply 1 more coat of SG later tonite, but it already looks like Glass...Fantastic!

It is a Honda Element...a box on wheels, but functional & roomy, which fits my needs.

I couldn't tell if the dealer preped it, but if they did it wasn't a good job. There didn't appear to be any swirls in the paint & it didn't feel all that smooth, but the clay took care of that.

Again, thanks very much for your expert insights!!!

Congrats on your Element purchase . I love my E . I use it for my mobile detailing.

Get you some spray wax or detailing spray of your choice that works well with KSG and wipe 'er down in between washes . It only takes about 10 mins. to do a mini detail on these vehicles...
