Hey guys,

I am looking to buy some equipment for detailing so I can start my business.

I look for steamer, extractor and a good pressure washer.

I have looked at the Vapor Chief and the Mytee Lite 2 8070 but still dont know which one should I get or if I really need to get an extractor if I am getting the Vapor Chief or whatever other steamers you guys think I should get.

Now for the pressure washer, I have the Karcher electric pressure washer which is overall good but the output of water is weak and the noise it makes is horrible so I am looking for a really good pressure washer.

I would appreciate any comment from you guys.

Mobile or fixed location?

Don't for get you also need insurance, reclaim, signs, uniforms, paperwork, web-site, training........,

Thank you guys!

That Steamer is 110v and I need 220v and that is the reason I said the vapor chief since he kevin can make it in 220v.

Also, would like to get references on pressure washer just to use it on really dirty cars that ONR will not be able to perform the extra cleaning ability of regular wash.

Thanks,

Eliran

You need a pressure washer. It will save you time and money. While onr is great. Its no a replacement to a pressure washer.

I know I need and I have but not satisfied that much with my karcher and would like to get some suggestion on which PW.

take about $2500-$3000 and buy a heated commercial grade PW. You'll never look back once you do and kick yourself in the arse for not doing it sooner. Landa makes some of the best ones out there right now.

twisted, I liked the idea! It is so damn true.

Jakerooni, can you give me a link to a PW like that?

Thanks everyone!

I just looked at those Landa and I dont know exactly which model but it seems to be to much for what I am looking for.

What about the camspray or other brands?

Thank you Jakerooni!

And what is the price for that?

I have found 3 nice PW from Camspray and Karcher which both carry Honda engine:

Cam Spray 25006HX - Professional 2500 PSI (Gas-Warm Water) Pressure Washer w/Honda

Which is 2500PSI and 3.0 GPM.

Karcher G4000OH - Prosumer 4000 PSI (Gas-Cold Water) Pressure Washer w/ Honda GX Engine

Which is a little high 4000PSI and 3.6 GPM but can be adjust from 100-4000.

Karcher HD-2.5/30-CH - 3000 PSI (Gas-Cold Water) Pressure Washer w/ Honda Engine

3000PSI and 2.5GPM.

What do you guys think about these 3?

New your looking at close to the $3000 mark. But you can get them fully refurbed for half the price. landa has it's own website which can link you to their vendors in your area to get a solid price. And remember it's the heat that makes the biggest difference so I wouldn't bother too much with those cold water ones if your looking to spend over a grand. Cold water PW's have their place but more in the $200-$500 range. once you get over that you really should be buying a Heated pressure washer.

Thank you very much!

The main problem is that I dont live in the states and I cant go to stores and look at pressure washers and only got the internet.

I found today 2 more heated pressure washer, one is by Comet and the model is Scout and in my country it costs around 2200$ and it does have 150 bars and 9 liters per minute.

The other one is Nilfisk Neptune 2 which is 170 bars and I dont know how much gallons per minute and it is about the same price.

Introduction

What equipment you are going to need depends on several factors. One, will you be fixed or mobile? Second, what type of services are you going to offer? Third, what type of customers are you going to target? You should answer these questions before doing anything else. Plan your business out properly; it will be more important than any single piece of equipment you can buy.

I am going to be fixed but maybe sometimes I will do some mobiling in case I will have to.

I am going to offer paint correction services, interior cleaning, washing, etc.

My target is to find the ones that cares for their cars and those that own expensive cars and can afford those kind of services.

Also, I am not going to work full time since I am starting to study soon so that will my side job.

Ok so today I got my new hot water pressure washer:

Nilfisk Alto Neptune 2-26 with 145 bars which is about 2100 PSI and 2.65 gallon per minute.

What is the ideal temperature to wash the car at?

I still did not decided on the steamer and my two main option are the Daimer KleenJet 300CS or the one that Attention To Detail sells.

Which one do you think guys is better and worth the money?

Instead of worrying about the equipment, concentrate on the business aspects of your business. Write a business plan, even if it is a simple and short one. Questions to answer; what services will you offer, who is your competition, who is your target market, is there a market in your area for detailing services, and how will you price your services. The answers to these questions are way more important than what kind of equipment you will use.
