Detailed the BMW! Pics inside

Well my new BMW finally got detailed. I clayed, buffed (3M SMR via rotary and Klasse AIO via PC polisher), and zainoed the whole car. It looks sick in person, I took these today and the detail was finished monday so it got a little dusty but still looks sick. I used Zaino Z5 with ZFX, 3 coats and straight up armor all is on the tires... i love the nice black look that it leaves with no sling! I also zainoed the headlight lenses, nice and clear :pimpin:

Hope you like it!

Tire shine pic

Looks hot!

Zaino gave it a pretty nice shine and I agree with the Armor All on the tires.

What are your plans for the car mod wise?

PS You're gonna have to change your avatar now :)

That's a great color and a terrific car. Congrats on the new BMW. As a past owner of a 02 330i sport I know you will love your new car.

I have been a long time Z user but decided to try out UPP on my Porsche and WG on our Explorer. Based on past experience in the winter time and Jason's experience with Z in the winter - I think I will be going back to Z for the protection on both cars.

Try not to drive to slow in that thing! Enjoy!

Hey, that can looks very sweet.

One thing I've never understood about some high end cars like that, why do they but HID low beams in, then but regular style headlights for the high beams? Doesn't that just defeat the purposed of highbeams?

Ali, WOW!! The car looks beautiful. I love topaz blue. Definitely up there as one of the best bimmer colours.

Did you use anything on the trim? It looks great.

LOL GSR, u are right... I just noticed that. I'll snap a BMW emblem pic hehehe. As for mods, the only ones i have now are the chrome exhaust finishers and the titanium headlight trim. I was thinking about getting the 2004 wheels but I am kinda low on funds now and I like the wheels that are on it now.

David, only your skilled eye could point out the black trim ;). Yes it is treated and I used Meguiars Trim detailer on it. Seemed to work very well, the trim was in pretty good shape to begin with so i think that helped. I was thinking about having the trim painted body color. Only thing wrong with the car is that the rear bumper was hit :( (barely visible) and the freggin side skirts and rear bumper edge facing the tire is all chipped up! I am not going to be too anal about it, I think it looks great as it is now...

edit: you can kinda see the chipping in the last photo/the tire shot. Look at the bottom edge of the bumper and it looks white/silvery.... thats because the paint is chipped off.

buickguy:

My car has Bi-xenon headlamps. The projector (eye) has a xenon bulb in it. When operating on low beams the xenon bulb is lit and a metal shutter inside the housing blocks part of the light so it has a sharp cutoff and doesnt blind other traffic. When u pull the turn signal lever back the center (halogen) lights illuminate to "flash" other cars or to quickly light up something. This is done because of the slow light up time for xenons (when the low beams are not previously on) and to reduce wear/load on the metal shutter motor. When you press the stalk forward the metal shutter "opens" inside the headlight exposing the full beam pattern (high beams) and lights up far more than the halogen high beams do. So essentially i have both xenon and halogen high beams.

Nice! Great to see another BMW on the boards. How much was the titanium headlight trim? Those punks at the dealership took mine out even when my car is silver to replace the lights. Got a part #?

Very nice Al. I love the BMW. The Xenon lights are superb.

I would only suggest you try the Z-16 at some point. I prefer it to the Armorall and you can adjust the shine by how much you apply.

Very nice, looks amazing! :xyxthumbs I love those E46's, especially the Topaz Blue.

Do you have any pics of the interior? The natural brown is a very interesting color and looks very nice. I haven't seen too many of them in your color combination.

Nice job! Sorry you got rid of the IS300. I tried your Lexus link on MBworld but it doesn't work. What's the story?

Funny you mention that, I had a whole xenon light fiasco when I got the car. Euro/Right hand drive spec xenons were in the car and it was blinding everyone. Therefore after much arguing the dealer installed brand new xenon light assemblies and put in the 330i headlights instead, so unfortunately i do not know the price.

To the others asking about the lexus, Sorry I haven't been frequenting this board as much as I used to so that link is out of date. The story on the lexus is it was giving me tons of issues and the dealership basically threw in the towel and could not find any issues with the transmission even though one existed. I got very annoyed with the dealership and just basically decided to dump the vehicle. The last week I had it I beat the living sh*t out of it, therefore I feel bad for the next owner.:xyxthumbs

Here is the pic that used to be in my sig.

I do use Z16 but I find it is a little too pricey for constant use. Z16 does last longer and I find it has a very similar look to armor all (and application).

Al...sweet as usual!

I have a client with a topaz blue Z3. That is a stunningly gorgeous color!

My wife has a 2001 IS300 with the auto tranny. We have had alot of problems with it hesitating shifting slowly/weird. Were these the same issues you had with yours?

It is too bad because otherwise it is a great car. The handling is awesome and when clean and detailed well the black looks awesome!

Hey Al,

I know this is drifting off the original post subject but as an owner of a 5spd is300, I am curious as to what problems you were experiencing with the tranmission? How many miles did you have on the car? Did you hear of anyone else with a similar prob?

You put the dreaded plastic shine product on that Bimmer? You know, the one that makes the surface look like shine with scratches? Oh the humanity! ;)

Nice job Ali.
