Covercraft Custom UVS Heat Shield Review

I recommend getting the Covercraft Custom UVS Heat Shield for this summer where your car is out in direct sun. This product reduces heat buildup inside vehicle. Also it minimizes rubber and vinyl deterioration caused by UV rays.

Customized fit for all vehicles, SUV, car, truck, new and old. This is a 2014 Lexus GX460.

This black SUV has been outside all day with the Covercraft Custom UVS Heat Shield up.

Most car interiors would be very hot to touch, especially one with black paint with a black interior. I was able to hold my hand on the dash without burning myself.

The Covercraft Custom UVS Heat Shield folds up accordion-style for easy storage.

The heat shield is easy to put up and take down, since it is custom fit for the car you don't have to worry about trying to make it fit. Pull the sun visors down to hold the Covercraft Custom UVS Heat Shield in place.

I also own this product for my 1999 Land Rover. It fits very well, it is no hassle to put up and take down. The vehicle also has black paint, and there is a big difference when I don't put the Covercraft Custom UVS Heat Shield up. When the heat shield is not up for the day the air is very hot and everything is hot to touch. When the heat shield is up the inside of the vehicle has a subtle warmness that the air conditioner can turn cold in a matter of seconds. Great product to have if your car is outside all the time!

Great review Jesse. I have one for my Dodge Ram. The only thing that I dont like about it is that for the Ram it is very big and bulky and can be a pain sometime to set up.

For Florida I think this is a must but here in ny I just find it to be a pain. I think if you deal with heat for just summer months the best option is tinting your windshield. Proper ceramic made for windshields is amazing stuff. I have that on my R, unless it's 90+ direct sun I'm fine.

I've got a covercraft sun deflector for my BMW and love it. It's way nicer then the $9 one in my daily driver from Pep Boys. If you own a black car, these are a must during warmer months.

HI Jesse, how is this compared to the Eclipse Retractable one? Thanks!

The Eclipse Retractable Windshield Sun Shade serves the same purpose as the heat shield, they both do an outstanding job of sealing out the UV rays. The retractable sun shade just folds up into narrow strips on the edges of the windshield next to the pillars. It's just a faster way to put up a sun shade.
