I am going to do all of my interior completely before I even order a PC. I read through autopia's ebook with no mention of how to use Woolite for carpets. Here is a picture of what my carpet look like:

There are a few heavier stains elsewhere also. This is my *guess* of how you use woolite on carpets and general fabric detailing with woolite.

1. Remove front seats (it is a coupe)

2. Vacuum as much dirt off as possible.

3. Spray 6:1 Woolite on rear carpets first, be fairly generous.

4. Work the carpet stains with a carpet brush.

5. Now use a terry cloth and transfer the stains by agitating the fabric.

6. Repeat as nessisary?

How do you guys do it?

Just dont soak the carpet too much. Its like cleaning carpet in a house. Word of advice, vaccuum after you scrub. You will get lots of dirt outta there that you brought up from scrubbing.

I would spray lightly. Just cover the full area with the product, but dont saturate it. You will know how much to use as you start going. Then agitate it with a brush, then asorb the liquid with a towel.

Now, if your vacuum is a wet/dry vac, this is how you can do it:

Spray lots of cleaner (or as needed),

agitate with a brush,

quickly vac up,

spray water (kinda as a rinse cycle.. I like to do this at least)

then vac the rest up

It looks like the key for you will be to vac as much as possible up before starting.

No guide that I know of that is specific for the Woolite method, but the advice that's already been given is very good. It's really simple.

ok, so:

1. Take out seats/mats

2. Vacumm

3. spray on

4. use carpet brush

5. vac up or terry cloth rubing

6. repeat 3-5 as needed

7. use clean water (sparingly) to rinse

8. vac that off or terry cloth to dry

9. use hair driers if needed

10. reinstall seats

10 easy steps for flawless carpet, haha.

i kinda like the oixclean mix better for the carpet.. just my opinion tho... works really good... u just mix some oxiclean with water and spray down the mats and start scrubbing... i tried the woolite mix today on a escalade, but i think it created too much suds when u are scrubbing... and it took forever to rinse/vac them out...

ill make it more of a 8:1 mix then. I'll post back my results (pics) and experence probably in 3-4 days.

what is the ratio?

I am starting right now, getting out the wet dry vac. I have a coupe, so taking out only thr front seats is needed. I could see how it would be a pain to take out all 4 w/ a sedan.
