what products and applicators would you recomend to clean and protect it with?

it seems to have some kind of clear coat or acrylic layer over it which i have some small scratches and 1 deep scratch on. i can live with the long one though since im not familiar with wet sanding or anything like that.

any help is appreciated.

I have read that some use Klasse AIO and maybe some filling carnaubawax on top. I would be careful with strong cleaners and polishes since the coating might be soft..But I am no expert on this..

The wood inside the car is coated in a urethane clear coat, so clean and protect it as such. Clean it with a mild soap if needed (I clean mine when I clean my leather with a dilute Woolite solution), then put a sealant on it. I use Zaino's Z-2. Would not suggest an abrasive polish/cleaner (AIO) unless it is scratched and really dirty. I'm frequently accused of having a new car even though our 2002 is 7 years old and has 91k on her. I'm of of those OCD (obcessive compulsive detailers) and a Zaino Zealot.

I use NOVUS Plastic Cleaner and then NOVUS Plastic Polish on all woodgrains, smooth plastics, guage plastics, stereo displays, etc.

I use Cockpit Premium sprayed directly on a MF towel for the wood trim in our Lexus RX 350.
