ChemicalGuys

As all of you, I have been searching the web for good car cleaning/maintenance products. I have a Blackfire kit coming this week. But I want to get some other goodies as well. I keep going back to ChemicalGuys. For the most part I read they are average. I think what is enticing me is that they have these nice colorful liquids in 16oz spray bottles. Is it me or am I being persuaded by eye candy rather than quality. It's like a candy store with pinks, purple, blues .... I don't want to regret my decision. Need help---please!:inspector:

Ive never had dealings with Chemical Guys so i dont have an opinion about them either way, but if you havent checked out Auto Geek already i would highly suggest them. Dont let colors and scents persuade you.

Re: Chemical Guys

I use chemical guys EZ Creme acrylic glaze because it is very good.
I find it to be better than many other brands that I have tried.

A lot of products that you see online are made by Chemical Guy's
All you need is a warehouse and a web site.

Think up a name for your product and then order it from Chemical Guy's
While they do have their own line of products their main business is making stuff for other brands that people rave about..

I've used several CG lineup offerings, and they are on pace with all the other boutique stuff I've tried. Where you get a deal with CG is when you buy in larger quantities instead of small bottles - which is true for most vendors. However, CG seems to have the lowest cost bulk offerings for similar items that you can get at other places. ;)

Hmm...I learn something new every day.

I don't follow the heard on detailing products I prefer to decide for my self and some products that are seldom mentioned are very good so you can't go by that.
Example would be Car Brite you seldom hear about them.
Car Brite has excellent products but they are hard to get for some.

I live where they have a route truck that calls on all the paint and body shops so I get what I want from him.
Just because a LSP cost a lot of money sure is no guarantee that it is better.

I couldn't agree more. 90% of my arsenal is Car Brite, Pro, and Auto Magic. It definatly helps that reps come to me and even let me try differant products before I buy them. My fav thing about Car Brite is the dilution levels. Their Bug Away dilutes 1:20 for example.

Have you tried the Car Brite Sheen ??
I used their Super Kote for a few years then started using the Sheen I use it on my show car and it will do wonders on Plastic.

True, true. :bigups And just because you can pick it up at the store down the street doesn't mean it's crap either.
This year I'm going to be using NXT on my show car.
2 years ago I used NXT and won every time I took it to a show about 15 times that year so it must not have looked so bad. :D

It is awesome on Black and since I detail it every time it is drove durability is of no concern.

It looks good is available at my local WM and it don't cost all that much.
My other 6 vehicles has DG-105 on them because I don't have time to do all of them like I do the vette.

CG is a big white label production. You have probably used CG products and not even known it. I don't know where anyone would have heard the products are average. In my experience they have been on par with some of the better products out there. The polishes are definitely very user friendly and highly effective. They do custom formulations for some companies that are really amazing. One such brand has some of my very favorite products in their line. They are definitely worth trying out. They don't have the glitz and glamor of a Pinnacle or a Wolfgang, but its whats in the bottle that counts. ;) The only reviews I've read that were negative about CG were people just looking to find a problem with them so they didn't have to admit that this low cost product might just be as good as what they have been paying twice as much for elsewhere.

I've seen it on the truck and in the older catalogs but never tryed it. Next time I need some dressing I may give it a shot.

As for CG, I think when I get home tonight I'm going to check them out. I'm looking to try out some new stuff and rethink how I'm doing certain things. After I met my match yesterday with a swirl job that I couldn't correct (a first for me and a very humbling experiance to say the least) I've decided to invest in a Flex and the full PB SSR line for sure.

Well - to be honest, I'd rather use something that smelled nice as opposed to something that smelled like a chemical vat. If I could have a choice....
