carpet shampooer

I'm looking to buy a carpet shampoer, I would use it on my cars only as my house is all hard floors. I used to work at a detail shop at theres kicked a$$ have no clue what it was. I've also used a bissel big green it seemed to do the job, just the plastic head was flimsy. I currently have a wet dry shop vac as well couldnt I just use that with some good cleaner and a good head for the vaccum? What would you suggest for a good carpet cleaner on tan carpets and seats for the Acura, and black for the mini?

The Bissell Little Green Machine is a pretty inexpensive model that is popular on this forum. Mine works pretty good.
