Carnauba Wax Collection

Over the last few weeks I put together a collection of carnaubas. Others that have used waxes from the list could I have your opinions on that product?

I will be using a few on my cars for the fall/winter driving season. Our driving time in the AZ desert.

Thanks

lol that's a huge list, never heard of half of them. Why don't you narrow it down and let us know which ones you really want to know about. I doubt anyone has the time review all of them right now.

You forgot Carnauba Moose Wax by the way ;)

I didn't expect someone to review all on the list at once. I wanted opinions from various people that have experience with a few different products on the list.

As far as the Carnauba Moose goes I do own it but I only listed my carnauba paste collection. :)

Well you might find the Zymols to be quite dominant in terms its finish resolution; However I would advise you to try a less refined carnauba for winter's protection. A default wax (if you want to stay with the Zymols) would be the Titanium wax, which is formulated for harsher outdoor weather and tree sap.

You would also do very well with P21s in the fall and winter. Its durability will surprise you. If P21s is layered well, it will stand up to most harsh winter climates, and it will last you until the warm season starts over (personal experience with the Eastern Seaboard's harsh weather).

If you wanted to compare another tough wax, you could give collinite a try. It has a good reputation as being a durable carnauba.

Edit: When you've decided on the carnauba to go with, I would not recommend mixing different Carnaubas (for cosmetic reasons...I've found that putting different lsp's together will hampen your finish quality as opposed to using one finely textured carnauba).

Gliptone's waxes I haven't found to be especially terrific, but their pro-buff paint cleaner may well be the best polishing cleaner in the business.

OK these are the ones I have used...

Victoria Wax I don't care for at all. The hand application is a real pain in the butt, it's not easy to remove, and the results are mediocre.

Pinnacle Souveran and Signature Series are up there with the best. Pinnacle waxes have always had an awesome reputation. Ease of use, shine, and durability are all there. Top notch products IMO.

P21S - Right up there with Pinnacle. May not smell nice, but the results and ease of use are excellent.

DP Max Wax is rather new, and an excellent value. Similar to Pinnacle waxes, but not the same...for $25 you can't go wrong with this wax.

Natty's Blue - Fairly easy to use, good shine, excellent beading, but when I used it on my car, after it rained, the wax hazed up and the car needed to be washed to remove the wax again....weird.

S100 - 95% the same as P21S. Slightly different color, and the manufacturer says the formula is different. However, I can not confirm this - even if they are different, the difference is too small to tell.

Meguiar's #16 - Never really had a good experience with this wax....easy to apply, but hard to buff off. Stains trim, and didn't last very long for me. Beads nice though.

FK1 Pink Wax - Decent shine, great durability, but a PITA to use. Smells like pure solvent and burns your fingers when using it for awhile...wear gloves and a mask and you should be okay :nervous: :grinno:

Jeez..... Lusso Oro. I havent seen that around for years. Is it even made anymore???

EDIT!!!!!

I just searched it on the web

I remember this stuff. The last I saw it was in 1993-94 when I bought it from the shop where I bought my car stereo equipment. He had a display in his shop and I was intrigued to buy it. It went on and off like P21S but had a Pina Coloda scent. I was happy with the product but not the packaging. It had a faux gold chrome top and everytime you screwed it on or off, the chrome came off with the touch of your hand ultimately getting on the finish and stuck in the product. The product itself was good back then though.

Some think this is suspiciously like Pinnacle Paste Glaz...

yep... thats the top. You must have the magic touch for that gold not to come off or maybe I had a defective top. If I remember correctly, I took the wax out of the container and put it in a small rubbermaid snack container. God only knows where it went from there.
