Car Wash!

I just wanted to let all of you guys know that I went to CVS last week to get a prescription filled for my girlfriend, and I saw one of those sponges that you see on TV, you know, the pre-soaped ones, and I picked it up just wondering if it actually worked because I'm very skeptical when it comes to those things. All you do is soak it in water and it has the soap in it already, so you just suds it up and you're ready to go. Plus it has wax in it too, so it's really fast! I just thought I'd give you guys a heads up because my Rover looks better than it does at the car wash, and I'm definitely not going back.
Happy Washing!

Happy polishing !!!

I'm skeptical - not of the product, but of your first and only post touting a "seen on TV" product and providing a link to it....

Would the fact that he has posted that same information on more than one web-site have anything to do with your skepticism?

That too.

I reported it as soon as I saw it. Then posted my reply. I started to make a smart butt answer, but decided not to.

Wow, and your finish is BLACK? Ah, message to self, never use "as seen on TV" products.

Just use a good car wash soap, correct grit guards, lambswool mitts and if you're not into polishing waxing for the moment, use a good QD spray after drying off.

Hope you also don't use the Sham-WOW to dry it.:D

I understand that I am new here. Here is my take on this. If all you have to do is wet the sponge and it suds up, how do you rinse the sponge to rid the sponge of dirt particles. The more you rinse the more suds you get. So it may save time on washing, however it will cause you to spend more time on paint correction. So in the long run. Why bother with this sponge. Just typing out loud.

You are completely right. It will cause marring and RIDS.

It may have a customer base, but most or all of us try to keep this from happening. If you look at most of the threads here, we are sharing info about what works for us, and what doesn't.

It doesn't matter if you're a new member or not, your opinion is both valued and wanted. That's how we learn from eachother.

If I missed welcoming you WELCOME.

I looked at some video footage and it looks like you rinse it off like any other sponge. The soap appears to be reactivated by squeezing the sponge not by rinsing. The only time savings I can see is that time spent preparing soap and rinse buckets and putting them back up. And the need for paint correction is an assumption.

I'll assume that is an assumption not a definitive statement. I wash with sponges (grout and/or sea) most of the time and I don't have any issues with marring.

I have not tried the product, and if it is typical $19.95 informercial pricing, I doubt I do. It might be a helpful tool for washing underbody and undercarriage because of the amount of soap (more thick foamy than sudsy) it seems to deliver.

Like the product or not, posts knocking an untested product are pointless.

The paint sealant or wax in that sponge protects with crazy water beading and uv protection for up to 9 months with just one wash!

So... do you let the sponge dry, turn it over then begain to wax. :hmmm: :dunno:

I don't think so...:hmmm: I feel almost certain that the soap is one of those wash and wax soaps ala PB's Super Slick & Wax and others. I haven't seen the claims for how long the wax is supposed to last, but I wouldn't expect much in terms of durability.

When I saw the commercial I LOL!! But I got to say I never tried it so who knows!!
