Car shampoo/wash question

I have been using GG Brilliant car wash and UWW for WW and RW`s with good results. But it seems there are shampoos made for coated cars. Why is that? Are they better than the "generic" shampoos?

Some of the caring soaps have a small amount of sio2 in them. From what I can tell though is most just are surfactants that leave nothing behind (waxes, polymers) and do not harm coatings or toppers.

I believe both you use leave polymers ( griots says leaves a hi gloss finish behind and UWW uses Polychargers).

Find a soap that leaves nothing behind ph neutral or balanced and you should be fine. Megs hyperwash is a forum favorite, I use optimum soap. Both would be great. If you want something dedicated Reset seems to be the favorite. Bought a bottle and will mix in 1 in every 3 washes just to maintain.

For rinseless/waterless Ech20 works with sio2. McKee’s 914 just cleans and leaves nothing behind. I use Ech20 for waterless and 914 for rinseless both are awesome.

Griots actually makes a rinseless brilliant shine that is pretty economical. Just bought a half gallon but haven’t tried.
