car cover causing smears on paint..

I have 3 cats so i have to cover the car everytime I pull it into the garage.. i cover the car with cotton bedsheets and then cover the front with a bedsheet and a heavy comforter cause the cats like sitting on the hood..

However i do notice that if the car is covered for 3-4 days or more and i uncover it, there are small smears all over the paint and glass.. kind of like tiny bug splats but look like a smear from tire gel or something... the sheets are always clean!! I dont get it.. what causes the smears to build up on the glass and paint? They come off with detailer spray but heck, sometimes i would like to uncover the car and have it spotless! Thanks for any help!:nixweiss

the car is a 2001 Navy Blue Metallic Trans Am.. its not my daily driver.. had it over 4 yrs and it has 21k miles.. bought it new

I believe Covercraft says this is caused by pollution/ general poor air quality. This was my second biggest pet peeve at the time with just one Weathershield cover. I'd get those awful marks near where the seams were. So I went and did the 2 cover method : Weathershiled over a Noah. In addtion to enhanced protection from rain, I virtually eliminated that hazing, to a point that if any is present, QD can remove it. Whereas before, it sometimes needed a wash, it was so bad.

JDookie has the latest and greatest car cover fabirc: Weathershield HD. It sounds to me that it can put an end to needing the two covers ( WS HD wasn't around at the time I got mine).

Maybe he'll chime in with a report about any smearing.

ttt thanks! anyone else? There has to be a easier way to cover the car without getting smears.. ugh.. afterall, the car is supposed to be clean lol
