Car Bras & Hood Covers...

I have always wanted a car bra, especially for road trips. The bug strikes and little chips and dings will ruin the front end of a beautiful car.

I recently purchased a "Perfect-Fit" car bra for my Grand Prix and I need some feedback from the Autopians about your thoughts on bras & hood covers....

1. Do you leave it on all the time or only for road trips?

2. How often to remove the bra and clean the paint underneath?

3. How should the car bra be cleaned?

4. Other car bra issues I need to know about?

5. Bra manufacturerers say not to "dress" the car bra with anything, but I've seen bras that look pretty bad after a couple years....thoughts? (maybe buy a new one every two years, they're only 89 bucks!).

Thanks............Bill

I have had the Perfect-Fit car bras for my last two cars. They make an awesome fitting bra. You can see pics of my 'Stang with the bra on at the webshots link in my sig.

I usually only put the bra on for road trips. I have not seen any new chips on the hood doing it this way.

I usually use Vinylex from Lexol on it. I just got some 303 protectant and may give that a try.

I am kind of skeptical but I was told by them that the vinyl needs to breathe to help evaporate water and putting a protectant on it will seal the vinyl preventing evaporation and causing water to stay trapped under the bra.

Your 'Stang looks as good with the Bra on as it does off!

My problem is that I love ALL CARS........If I had a 10 car garage, it would be full and I'd be planning to build on!

Nice car.

I use a bra on the hood of my new Audi only for road trips. I think 303 should be completely safe for it. My bra is a Colgan and 303 says its the only protectant recommended by Colgan.
