canopy

there are two of the same type of canopy that I am looking at getting...one is a 10x10 and the other is a 12x12....

the 12x12 is about 35 bucks more....same build and quality on both....should I get the 12

, or get the 10'...both have a valence height of 81" (part where you walk under, which I think I might have to end up getting taller legs for taller vehicles..)

what should I get?

You can boost legs with equal lengths of 3" PVC by inserting cotter pins through at different heights. Don't worry too much about vertical clearance, IMO. I am pretty happy with my 10x10 but I don't work on many SUV's or large trucks. If you can shell out the cash, the 10x15' canopy(ies) that Joe (Superior Shine) has are NICE. If I were in the OC climate or inland, I'd go with those. HTH.

since those are the only two size your looking at then go for the 12by12....

by the way are you ordering online or local pick up....

Like andrew says Joe @ SS has some top of the line canopies if i were mobile l would definetly pick them up, dont go cheap that my.02

Dats how you do that baby!!! Keep in mind thats a full size suburban under there.

These cost me $1600

I just cant see spending 1500 on two canopies ( I think thats what he paid - the ones from some convention with screen printing on them)....

I am thinking the 12x12 just for the added shade....144 sw ft vs 100 q ft, but has anyone had any problem with setting them up by yourself???

joe, i thought you had them screenprinted with company info of them???? or do you just use the van for company info?

i am going to get the website and number printed on two sides of the valences

Damn 1500 for those canopies!?! They better be bomb proof. hahaha. And where are those 10x15 canopies available at?

I can set up my 12X12's by myself, but prefer 2 people. I don't like seeing the frame twisting when I do it one corner at a time by myself. I do not know what brand or price you are paying, but I paid $385 shipped for two 12X12 quikshades with cases. I am pretty satisfied so far. As far as screenprinting, I was told this is not a viable (sp?) option because the printing will not adhere to the polyster/nylon weave. I got a banner made like this (only one tent up)

Banner will run you about $100-$200.

hmmm...maybe the banner is a better idea over the screenprinting....costs less too and can take it with you when you dont need the canopy...i think I'll do that instead...

sports authority has a 40% off sale right now...quikshade, recreational 12x12 canopy retails for 220 plus tax....it comes out to about 145 out the door when discounted.....that is the one I am going to pick up tomorrow....

if you compare the two canopies for example Joe and the Ez up your desire...you can see and feel the difference...Believe me you can...At first I thought "Wow" that alot of money on just canopies and i said i wouldnt invest that much...but if you see it and unload and extend it you will understand plus this is for your business and if your full time dont mess around "you get what you put it"...if I had a full time business i would buy that in a heartbeat...12by12(ez up) may or maynot fit certain suv or truck especially if there lifted, so if you raise the ez up the legs/frame is very lite and flimpsy seem very compare that to joes which is built to last again, each to there own but if you can wait and save up or even just by one at a time, do it right the first time instead then by an ez up then it doesnt last and you end up with these at the end...joes if i recall are 10by15 the bigger the better i always say..Good luck in your decision

The Quikshade Recreational is the model I bought as well, and you are saving about $40 per tent compared to what I payed. I could fit an F150 under there, but I'm to scared. I think I am going to make some 4"X4"X4" jigs of wood to boost the clearance under the canopy.
