Buying Heated Extractor, Need advice Mytee 8070 or Aztec

I am buying a Hot water extractor in the next two weeks, I just have never had the pride in my interior jobs (customers never complained, I am just hard on my own work). Rinsing the interior takes a long time and sometimes there is some residual chemical that stiffens the carpet, drying takes along time and that is leading me to buy a small hot water extractor. (i have also read just about every review on either machine on this forum, just trying decide what I will be happy with)

I am very low volume and do details on the side, not for income but just for side money and I usually enjoy it. I am not "mobile" but due to my condo association, I don't always do work at my own garage, so weight, size and portability is key. In that regard I am really leaning toward the Aztec. I just don't like the small solution and recovery tanks and searching for reviews on here only lead me to a handful of people using this machine. I know the Mytee units are very solid and held in high regard for Home and Auto, plus it has the larger tanks, but adds to the weight and size (has to fit in my Nissan 200SX or Toyota Camry).

The thing scaring me about the Aztec is all the fuss about Durrmaid and how horrible they are and their cust service. I know Aztec is different, but the unit is very similar. I just dont want to spend 6-700 on a unit that I won't get the results I want or soon out-grow (although I don't do more than one car a day, usually a few cars a month actually). I just wonder if the Aztec is too small to be worth using, should I just step up to the Mytee 8070? A plus about the Aztec is Danase sells them and is a great sponsor of the forum and has a great price!

Let me know what you guys think and If you have had expirience with either or both units. Thanks in advance.

i looked at both a got the mytee 8070. the three gallon tank is just right and the size is fairly compact. it is also very easy to empty the waste/recovery water. i wouln't want anything smaller. the price is fairly close.

I read a lot of posts a while back that said Durrmaid was in new ownership or something and that they were good. I'd contact Topoftheline and talk to them before buying. I do know for a fact that the Mytee distributor in my area dropped them due to warranty issues that didn't want to address.

I currently have both the Durrmaid and 2 Mytees. I like the 8070 Mytee extractor so much more, because it has an in-line heater, and the will deliver hot water more consistantly than the Durrmaid. I also have the HP 60, and it rocks, but you will need a strong back when lifting it daily (I do).

For me the Mytees have proven to be more bang for the buck, and a local janitorial supply store services them when needed.

Yea the mytees just have better options and are built solid. You don't necessarily have to buy a new one though. A gently used one will suit you just fine and save you some $$ in the end.

Does the Mytee 8070 seem to be as powerful as the Durrmaid as far as vacuum? The Durrmaid/Aztec claim 102" lift and the Mytee's specs say 85" of lift. I know CFM flow could be different and the Mytee could give better Real World results. I am definately considering the Mytee more and after I saw the insides, I see it is built SOLID and easy to work on for servicing! I can also remove the recovery tank to make it fit in my car easier....

Thanks for the info...

Where should I purchase the Mytee 8070 from? Who has a good price while maintaining the warrantee and great cust service? Also do any of the forum sponsors carry them, I couldn't find any.

if it helps, i bought mine from detailsupplyoutlet.com

like stated above, you probably hv a local janitorial shop that services them. i do. so far no problems except some faulty switches.

Well I pulled the trigger and ordered a Mytee 8070. I feel that the larger tanks suited my needs better, I often get Mini-Vans. I hope I didn't cheap out too much and kick myself later for not getting the HP60 Spyder, but this is what I could afford right now and I believe it will be a step up over my Ridgid Shop Vac extraction (12 Gal 5.5hp). It also seemed to be better for the portability that I need and will fit in my vehicle. I just hope that the low switches don't kill me.

I ordered it from abcsys4u.com which is an authorized mytee distributor and service center.

I phoned in the order and Bruce was very easy to talk to and answered my Q's.. Will put a follow up when I receive it. Thanks for the advice.
