Black Pearl Trim and Tire Armour

Hello everyone,

This is a product I came across and thought I would do a review for you guys. It is called Black Pearl Trim and Tire Armour. It is a permanent coating for tires, plastics, or trim. I must say that this stuff is awesome and I give it a 10/10. It is very easy to apply and the outcome is unbelievable. I recommend doing one coat, as two coats gives it a shiny look which I'm not a huge fan of. One coat gives it a perfect natural shine. The product is rolled on using a small paint roller that is supplied with the product as it is to sticky to use with a normal tire applicator (pretty much painting it on). A little goes a long way with this stuff. It forms a film over the tire or trim that is completely dry to the touch and does not attract any dirt or dust unlike some dressings out there. Below are some pictures of the steps, and the final pictures are of it with two coats so it looks shiny. I also included some engine bay pictures.

Here is the tire after a thorough cleaning using Purple Power

Here is is being applied using the paint roller

And some afters of the engine bay and tire

Here are a few videos, just click on it to view

Thanks for looking and hope you all enjoy

Looks too shiny to me!

Al... You can apply just one coat for a toned down look or Matte finish....cool thing about this product is you can take either your hand or White Microfiber towel and rub the tire and it leaves no product on either your hand or the towel.....pretty cool stuff

TUF SHINE does the same thing, and is VERY easy to apply. Will be interesting to see how these two compare and contrast!

Yeah I use TUF SHINE currently and it has been working great for me, but I am always open to something that offers extended protection.

No problem. I have plenty of choices that do not require buffing down to get the look I like and dry very quickly so no residue. The water based dressing are not really that greasy in any event. I always apply using an applicator (spray on applicator then wipe) so less mess to start with.

looks interesting
looks like it could be a pain to use

actually very easy to apply, the roller is very nice i will most likely be switching to doing all my dressings with the roller on tires. it gives a more even coat i think.

one coat is a matte finish.

you do not need to buff to get the look you like. either one coat for matte or two for shiny. this is a good add on service not really to be used on every car

Todd, from what i hear the technology is different. Black Pearl actually restores the tire back to natural while adding protection for a long time. It will restore cracks in the tire. Tuf Shine is a little different as it has dye in it and has a black tint to it which gives it that "black" look. Im not quite sure if it really restores the tire. But like i said this is what i hear from the science aspect of it. Also it shows in the MSDS records for both. Thats just my take on it, I'm not knocking Tuf Shine at all so don't take it like that please anyone. I would also like to see how they both add up next to each other

Like the concept but was severely burned in the last tire coating I bought (megs). Rain washed it off two days after application. Still dark but no shine whatsoever.

How is the durability? I like the look on plastic but the tires need their shine factor bumped up. Looks too matte. Tire shine, to me, should look like a dripping wet tire without the drip, I want to see myself in it. Is that one coat? Multiple coats increase shine?

TUF SHINE is clear...

The durability i think is around a year. Yes the more coats the shinier it gets. Two coats looks wonderful in the sun. It really is a great product so far from what i have seen and used. I will get some pictures up of it after a few weeks of driving and see how it is. But i highly recommend this stuff for sure to anyone.

I'm really looking for a coating that lasts more than a week or two but maintains a high gloss. The coatings last but no shine. Tire shine has gloss but no durability. Too much to ask?

Only one way to find out Todd. I've already got the Black Pearl kit and their Omni Clean tire cleaner. Just sayin :)

I got a chance to use Black Pearl and have to say this is nice stuff. I'll be putting together a post with pictures in the next few days.
