Black Paint... Needs some restoration...

Hi,

I'm new to all of this and would like some pointers on getting my '98 Grand Cherokee's paint to shine like it did the day it was driven off the lot.

I use meguiar's polish and wax often but it has some fine scratches, oxidation(I guess you would say) and what-not. Everything you'd expect from a black vehicle that is a few years old.

I have some 3M Rubbing Compound, lots of meguiar's polish/was, and a O.B.

Can someone give me some pointers?

Thanks,

James

Start out with Megs #9, see what this does for you on a small area. If not satisfied go to Megs #2. If STILL not Satisfied, go to the Rubbing compound.

If you have had to go deeper than the #9, make sure you follow either the #2 or the Rubbing with #9. Followed by a good polish (#7 is what I use, havent tried the new #5 yet). And then a sealant of your choice (I use #26, though I have heard good things about #20 for durability).

Yeah pretty much, but I dont use Megs for everything. I usually only use their paint products.

For interior, go with Lexol unless you can afford 303.
