Black Leather care??

I just bought a new F150 with the black leather seats and want to make sure the leather does not fade!! I plan to tinit the windows and have used 303 on the dash and door panels. On my last truck I had beige leather and used lexyol (sp??) I bought from Target. It consisted of two bottles one cleaner (kind of brownish liquid) and a conditioner (looked like vanilla pudding). It kept the seats very soft and clean, but want to make sure it will work for the black.

I appreciate the help.

You can definitely use Lexol on your black leather. I've used Lexol on and off for years without issue. I've also recently used these leather products:

  • Poorboy's Leather Stuff
  • Imperial Leather Cleaner & Imperial Leather Conditioner
  • Zymol Leather Cleaner & Zymol Leather Conditioner
The PB's is OK, but was a little too shiney for my taste. It also left the surface a little slick and I wasn't sold on the smell. I did like that it was a cleaner & conditioner in one bottle though.

The Imperial kit is extremely similar in terms of performance to Lexol (it does smell better though), but I think I paid twice as much for it in order to find this out.

I really like the Zymol leather kit. I've only just started using it but it seems to leave a nice matte finish and the smell is like a high quality skin cream. Also, it's nice that it's available locally at Target and other stores.

Use the 303 on the dash and doors as you said...Give the Zaino (Z10) a try...I have used leatherique and Lexol and just switched to Zaino. BTW, My interior is black.

Stick with the Two Bottle Lexol. I have not used it but have heard great things about it. And if it worked on the last vehicle it will on the F-150.

My personal choice for leather care is Meg's Aloe Leather Cleaner with a Meg's interior brush followed with some Chemical Guys Leather Conditioner.

By the way Welcome to DC and since you own a F150 I would like to suggest another site for you to check out. http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.com/

It is a great place to learn loads of stuff about your F150 and like here has a great membership. There are meetings and get tog ethers often and every state has it's own chapter.
