Best version of 'O Holy Night'

Its very possible. My brother is a huge fan. I wish he wasn't at work so I could ask him. I would like to hear some of that.

Very neat idea. Martina McBride, Clay Aiken and David Archuleta also have good versions.

All available on Amazon.com's MP3 Downloads page. That's my go-to for the annual Christmas CD I send instead of an annoying holiday letter

Cool idea. :bigups We receive a couple of the annual holiday family update letters. Not necessarily annoying, but sometimes not all that interesting. A really good Christmas music CD would definitely hang around a lot longer.

I tried to back up what I had thought and I can find nothing beyond a youtube that lists these two groups together. I believe someone may have forwarded that to me in the past and I just assumed it to be correct. At this point I don't think it happened.

The breadman was kind enought to make me a copy of this cd .I absolutely  it. :passout:

Late addition: Oh Holy Night by Straight No Chaser, an acapella group originally from Indiana.

Gotta see their Christmas Can-Can too. Won't link it here, but go to YouTube and Google "Christmas Can Can" and it will come right up.

I'd have to say it's between that one and the TubaChristmas version (but only because that was the first song I played above the staff on as a Tubaist, High F to F above High C is one hell of a jump when you're a freshman in Highschool, trumpet range that is)

I think that this is covered by the don't ask-don't tell policy!

Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, and Johnny Mathis were the three I grew up with on vinyl on my parent's old console stereo. I liked Johnny Mathis the best, and I still do but Neil Diamond really belts it out well, too.

I too like Neil's version even if there is a bit of irony in him singing this song. :)

my vote i guess :rockon

i love the sung versions, but i used to play the viola and really got into strings and symphony type music

it's not bad for 4 guys influenced by Metallica

Ingrbrdman Thanks for a great evening. I've been all over the net tonight listening to a ton of versions of my favorite Christmas song. First off it needs to be done as writen or it didn't get much play time. When it comes to Christmas its about tradition. For me its got to be Jonny Mathis and Nat Cole for male versions. For female no one can even come close, (I went all the way back to Kate Smith) to Celine Dion. She has the purest voice since Cass Elliot. Thanks again & Merry Christmas. Now I think I'll go listen to Celine again:rockon. Ric
