What's the best detail vacs you guys are using. Highest lifts? Best attachments? Quietest etc etc. I'm more concern with power and attatchments personally.

Fein

For the money this is about as good as it gets, IHMO of course. You can put whatever hose and attachments you want on this machine and from my experience you'll go years without any problems. It has great lift, air flow and it's quiet.

Get the cloth bag and clean it regularly.

I check my vacuum after every car to make sure I didn't pick up anything of value, to make sure my clients keep all their rings, coins, etc.

I have a garage attachment ( no on/off controls on hose) for my central vac and I piped and outlet and a switch right at my shop door, Will reach everywhere I need and has reduced vacumming times by 50% or better.

Attachements... use mostly the crevace tool ( I also have a 24" flexible one for hard to reach places ) and I have a small beater bar that is run by the air flow for larger areas like the trun or SUVs.

114'' of sealed suction in addition to 540 Air Watts

Had this for approx ten years Metropolitan Vac ‘N Blo (Vacuum / Blower Unit)

Look for a vacuum with a high number 'lift' (ins.wg) not HP as it only refers to motor size, or amps, which is current drawn

The Vac N'Blo Pro comes with a 12 ft power cord, a 6 foot flexible hose that can be attached to the intake or exhaust side of the vacuum (making it a blower), two 20 inch, extensions, a blower nozzle, Pick-All nozzle, dust brush, crevice tool, carpet/floor attachment, inflator adapter, 4 piece Micro Cleaning Tool Kit and 3 disposable paper bags.

Special features include an adjustable air control valve (Power Control) at the end of the hose that allows you to control suction and a carpet/floor attachment that is adjustable for carpeting and wood/linoleum/tile floors. This is the perfect vacuum cleaner for boats and RVs. It is powerful enough to clean up virtually any mess yet small enough to allow for easy storage. While the basic machine weighs under 10 lbs. (without hose), the Vac N'Blo Pro comes with a 4 wheel, hook and loop attached, trolley that allows you to pull it easily behind you.

Specification:

• Peak Motor Power: 4.0 HP

• Power Requirements- 11.25Amps, 110-120 volts

• Single-phase, 50-60 Hz VAC

• Vacuum: 95-inch water gauge static lift (this thing sucks LOL)

• Blower: 145,000SCFM @ 28,000FPM

• Dimensions: 15-iches long and 7-inch diameter

• 12-foot cord, re-usable cloth dust bag, and 16 accessories (crevice tool, brushes and etc)

I have both the Metro Vac and the Metro Vac Airforce Master Blaster, both are good machines but the metrovac vacuum isn't in the same league as the Fein when it comes to moving air. Also, the Fein is wet dry. They're all good machines, I particularly like the Master Blaster, I haven't had to use a cloth on wheel since I got it, and drips are a thing of the past.

My ryobi went to hell after about a year I'm currently using a craftsman its decent but still requires a lot more purging of carpets etc. I would love something that's durable and has tons of lift power might look into the Fein.

nice thread...my ryobi is on its last leg.

Metro Vac and glad I bought. Fein would also be a nice addition. Mostly, use the crevice tool along with carpet brush.

Recently, used my Cyclo for the first time with aqua brushes, steam, then extract. The Cyclo/brush deal really brought the fibers back to life--they were much more plush after this step vs. steam and extract. I'll be doing this on full interiors from now on.

On larger vehicles, I have a larger Shop Vac (metal canister).

Loving my Dyson Dc39. No bags and the beater brush for for mats cuts down my vac time in half. The only downside is Dyson does not make a extension hose.
