Best soap for foam gun (already searched)

I am kind of late in buying a foam gun but i have a cheap $10 one & i liked the idea so i am going to get a gilmour gun.

There are so many car wash soaps.

What is the best soap for the gun. My car will be washed once a week during good summer weather and at least once every 2 weeks during the fall & winter.

Thanks

most likely your car wont accumulate a lot of dirt and that youll just need the mild soap. this provides lots of suds for the dirt ot be lifted. after foaming and rinsing. you can follow up with the same Maxi Suds using the 2BM or even better follow up with an ONR wash

all i can tell you is that i use E1 nano with my Gilmour gun. lots of foam.

I do the same....and it's probably the best OTC soap I've used in this app. However, if folks wish to experience something bordering on "remarkable", try Optimum's most excellent car shampoo in the Gilmour :up

Enjoy.

I haven't tried this myself...yet....but seeing how how freaking foamy the gold class shampoo gets in just a bucket, I'd like to see it in a foam gun

+1... it is very cost effective too.

The Duragloss 901 is a big time foamer, too. However, I still give the nod to the Optimum for its all-around excellent performance.

IMO it depends what you're trying to accomplish with the foamgun. I don't *want* a lot of thick, clingy foam; that's not how I use my foamguns.

I mix up a gallon of concentrate using 5-6 ounces of Griot's Car Wash (will try the Optimum Shampoo some times..) and the rest water. I fill the foamguns from that and use mixture settings around the middle of the mixing-bar.

Note that's stronger than what I used to use.

No, it doesn't make clinging foam that will sit on the vehicle for a few minutes, but it's perfect for the constant flushing and lubrication that I use the foamguns for.

Best shampoo I have ever used was FK # 1016, but might be pricey if you are using a foam gun. Probably double what you would get for OTC, but leaves a just waxed shine. Also seems that Finish Kare's online store has been closed for a bit.

OP, please forgive me but I need to ask 1 question in your thread.

is the gilmour for a regular hose or a presure washer?

if not, which one is for the presure washer?...Thanks in advance

Okay, so far the choices are:

1. Megs Deep Crystal

2. DP Xtreme Foam

3. CG Maxi Suds II

4. Poorboys Super Slick & Suds

5. Optimum

I already have: Pinnacle (I wont use this in foam gun bc too expensive); Griots car wash and Surf City.

This is a tough choice and I only want to buy one. Which is the BEST?

I've also read of people who'll add a little bit of a super foamy wash like one of the CG's to their favorite wash.

Maxi Suds. That's what I was trying to remember.

Noting once again that the way *I* use a foamgun might not be the way *you* use a foamgun...

The best IMO? Griot's or Optimum (their regular shampoo, not ONR).

The Meg's Deep Crystal is one crappy shampoo...save it for your wheelwells or something like that.

The Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo is good stuff with great lubricity, I used it for years (I've probably washed the Jag more with that than all my others combined). But I always found it surprisingly harsh on LSPs, as in, *very* harsh. I like the Griot's a lot better.

I only tried the CG Citrus, but I love it so much I don't see a reason to switch. This is on a pressure washer though and I get thick foam. And when it drips, you can see the shine coming back to the car without touching it. Of course I mitt it afterwards to get all the dirt off, but the car really shines. And on the wheels, it breaks up the brake dust so well that I just need a wet rag to wipe it away, no effort at all and no other chemical cleaners.
