Best liquid laundry detergent for MFs

What's the best liquid laundry detergent for washing MFs?? The ones that doesn't have fabric softners, bleach, etc, etc............ just pure detergent.

I like to use Tide Free which is void of dyes, fragrance, etc...

I also fill the fabric softner cup up to the top with distilled white vinegar to aid in the removal of any remaining detergent. I just make sure the fabric softner cup is cleaned before I add the vinegar.

I always do an extra rinse.

autofiber.com sells some detergent especially for MF's. Davidb mentioned he used it and had excellent results. It's a bit pricey so I am staying away. I have good success with my own routine.

I've tried a bunch of mainstream detergents and can't say the MF towels look better or worse as a result of detergent selection. As Mr. Spilchy notes, I too add a dash of white vinegar to the final rinse water.

If you have not tried Ian's Micro-Restore product (www.autofiber.com), you don't know what you're missing. It's very concentrated, so don't use it like a normal detergent. Use an ounce for a small load, to two ounces for a big load.

I continue to use vinegar in the rinse water as I have been for a few years.

I've never seen a difference among any of the leading liquid detergents. Just use one without "softeners," bleach, or bleach substitutes.

The vinegar is the original "fabric softener" in that it helps the final rinse water release any left over detergent.

Ok, so I used Tide free, added a cup of vinegar when rinse, rince again w/o vinegar this time. I think I only added 200MLs of vinegar. The vinegar trick really work!! All of my towels felt alot softer!! Thanks everyone :)

I did the same thing with my 100% cotton towels yesterday (seperate load) and today after it was dry I felt that it's rougher. Will it be the vinegar??
