Best Extension Cords?

I have been using a set of two Craftsman yellow lighted locking end cords for the past 4 years. They were under a lifetime warranty until Craftsman decided to stop making cords! Sears has no lifetime warranty cords anymore.

I had exchanged one of them 2 years ago because the locks stopped working and starting jamming. Now both cords have started jamming. Sears is willing to refund my money but I need to find another set of 50 ft (100 ft total) cords that have lighted locking ends and are under a lifetime warranty.

I checked Lowes and Home Depot. Both have lifetime warranty lighted end cords, but not locking ends. I need locking ends for use with buffer and vacuum.

Does anyone know of any?

With the prices of Lowes cords can you not just find an attachment that will lock them?

i prefer yellow jacket. super flexible and seems to wipe clean so easy. they have locking models but i own the non locking. fits real tight.

amazon.com sells a locking weatherproof thing that i use on my main buffer. takes a minute to remove and the gasket seems a little delicate so i only bought one since i leave it permanently attached. its like $4-5

Northern Tool and Equipt has a great selection of extension cords. I'd check them out, also Harbor Freight.

The Yellow Jacket cords are excellent. I have a 50 ft I take with me, along with a 100 ft on a reel bought from Northern. I'm sure you can find locking models at one of those stores.

You might want to check smaller hardware stores like ACE, ACO, TrueValue, etc.

In fact I see ACE does carry the Yellow Jacket brand, so maybe they'd be your best bet.

Why do you need a locking cord? Just tie the cords together and then plug in. It is a free lock. They won't come undone. If you can picture it because of my crappy description, it looks like a pretzels when you tie them. Just like you are starting to tie your shoes.

This never works. It always comes undone and the plug falls out, plus it snags on everything. The locking cords are the best when they work.

Well, I wouldn't go that far. I know all the arguments against tying cords that way (and I'm sure not saying it's as good as a locking cord), but I still do it now and then and it works OK for me.

I went in and checked with the local ACE today and they did not have it.
