Autopia vs AG

Just a quick question for the admin or Todd. With Autopia car care and AG being under the same umbrella so to speak , can a item that is only offered at AG be order with a Autopia order ? This would keep from having to place two seperate orders coming out of the same place and being one larger order.

I can share a recent experience I had .. I just purchased all new pads for my DA and I noticed that AG had the 3 and 6 pack pricing while Autopia did not .. I sent an e-mail to Todd and he handled everything so that I received the pack pricing on my order .. I'm sure if you write down the item numbers and call in they can assist you .. seems like the actual items should overlap and customer service, in my experiences, is quite fantastic so there shouldn't REALLY be any issues

I am sure they can help you out as they are both under the same parent company in the end. But I think it is good for there to be a clear separation. If they are the same company and offer the same products what is the point in 2 stores? I continue to hope that Todd will continue to seek out new and different companies and products for the ACC stores to more separate itself from AG.

Currently don't see the unique value proposition of ACC compared to AG. Maybe we could chip in with some ideas on how to distinguish the two shopfronts? =)

For what it's worth, I think the dedicated Pinnacle and WG store fronts that PBMA operates are functionally dead... would hate to see ACC go that route.

The ACC Store definitely needs to have product offerings that are exclusive and do not overlap with AG. Regardless of the distribution point or common ownership.
There should be unique products and offerings exclusive to ACC that will drive the success and create activity and interest.
Exclusivity is a great catalyst for gaining momentum.

Something brought up in another thread makes me wonder how does one item being offered by one store be out of stock at the other ? Very strange.

I think the goal and the focus to truly separate ACC from AG is to have unique and exclusive product that AG doesn't carry. At one point ACC had BLACKFIRE, Chemical Guys, Migliore and were exclusive to ACC. Unfortunately AG also decided to add them to their store as well after they were a success. I look forward to ACC bringing in more and unique brands and items. Also having AF as an open discussion forum helps as well as AG is locked into only their products...

I would guess this is the difference in having 2 different systems. Which means that the info from the warehouse must be updated twice and it would appear that that is not happening.

Even though ACC and AG are under the same corporate umbrella and they are currently sharing facility and shipping department they are 2 separate companies. This I think is part of the confusion everyone is having.

Autopia, as a PBMG entity, is still in it's infancy. The forum has grown an individual personality as we continue to move the store forward in a different direction. We have plenty of things planned in the future but any suggestions are always welcome.

As a general rule, no. Autogeek and Autopia are separate companies that are under the same corporate umbrella. The best analogy I can think of would be the older Camaros and Firebirds. Both were built in Canada at the same factory, but you couldn't get a Firebird at a Chevy dealership or vice-a-versa.

This doesn't mean that we aren't willing to help in special occasions or unique circumstance, but generally the stores will operate independently of each other.

That said, if there is a line you see @ Autogeek and think I should bring it in shoot me a PM.
