Autoglym Super Resin Polish????

Has anyone ever used this and can give me an idea if it is a good thing or not? The local retailer carries this stuff and he says that it is comparable to AIO, but I would rather ask you all here for advice. I need it for oxidation removal, and to reduce some swirls in blue paint. Thanks!

Nice product. Slightly more agressive polish than AIO. Not quire as easy to wipe off as AIO. The final finish is nice, but AIO creates a darker finish that is nicer on black and red.

I used it lots before geting AIO as AG is big here in the UK, As David says - slightly more aggressive than AIO abbrassivly and slightly weaker in chemical cleaning ability. For me though I find the finish left to be slightly deeper than the Klasse, which tends to have a more clear look?

Apply it nice and thin or you will get the dust people dislike when using it.

Besides what they said, I find SRP to still be so mild (abrasives-wise) that it won't remove any marring for me. I find it hides residual marring better than AIO and lasts longer if left untopped. SRP is my choice for other people's cars where I'm not gonna remove all the marring. I top it with a heavy wax.

I never noticed it darkening the finish more than AIO. Not saying it doesn't by any means, but it might be subtle on some paints.

For some reason I just like it better than AIO. Not as versatile, doesn't clean as well, but I still like it better- go figure. One of those weird subjective things I suppose. But the "other people's cars" thing is enough to keep it on my shelf.

SRP is a good all round "one step" As Richt said it's been around in the UK for a very long time. I do find I'm using AIO more now on my own cars, but for some people the slight "cut" is useful.

resin is a good product...i used to use it, works VERY well on light colored cars white yellow etc.....

and yes apply thin coats or it WILL dust on you.

smells like pine sol lol

and it wont werk to well on swirls though.

I will add this... it works great by machine as a one-step product to remove light swirls or restore a slightly dull finish.

So many people say this but it never seems to do it for me :( ..and that's with the Cyclo too :nixweiss

I sorta like the smell, it reminds me of art classes back when I was a kid. SRP topped #16 is a real trip down memory lane, olfactorily speaking.

Haven't used AIO, so I can't compare the two, but I like the SRP. Nice glossy look on black, good depth/clarity. Lasts a fair bit by itself too. If you apply it thin, it removes very easily. I've found it "removes" (could be just hidden, haven't really scrutinized it) minor marring, such as from car washing and daily events, when used via PC. (on Ford paint, if that makes a difference.)

I haven't removed swirls with SRP, but it is good on hazing. Have to say though I'm using SRP less and less in favour of AIO (when I need chamical cleaning ability), but even that going now in favour of #80 and #82.

Pad a pressure combo make a difference.

SRP is an alright product, its vastly mis-used here in the UK, slapped on like icing on a cake and just left now even rubbed really.

I prefer AIO to be honest as it works better on my car, but in the same respect I do sometimes just add SRP to add that quick protection and the ability to hide swirls.

hey it was early on, (does his best william wallace accent) FREEDOM.

Ok well the technique used is normally incorrect when applying SRP. People seem to cake it on and then just leave it. No rubbing or anything.

I have watched this over and over again and it looks the same cloudy mess that they started with.

The product is good but there are so many other better products for the money I think.

Maybe for US users, I dont think there is for us in the UK though, IMO cant be beaten for price and availabilty esp when brought in 5 litre sizes.

Hi David,

What kind of pad/rpms do you recommend for SRP on something like Honda paint with a Makita rotary? I've tried it by hand before, but I'm curious what it is capable of by machine.

DaveKG seems to love this stuff, but my arms just aren't strong enough to work as many passes as he does, so it's been on the shelf for months :(
