Autoglym Radiant Wax

Has anyone used this? How does the pro line compare to the consumer line? Is radiant wax SR in a tin, or is the hardwax closer? Not sure I really want to buy that much in one go, but the price is tempting if its a polymer that I can use on the daily driver and top when I want to

I'm fairly sure that Radiant & SR are different products and you can buy SR in larger sizes. The AG website quotes Radiant as follows.

"For hand or machine polishing of oxidised, weathered, scratched paintwork. Restores and protects in one operation. Ideal for used cars."

not too sure, just been on their site and the "liquid hardwax No.1" might sound like a better offer for everyday cars. with tough synthetic resins and waxes. i have to agree it is a rather large amount to splash out on if it turns out a dissapointment but autoglym do have a good reputation.

I'm sure they are a bit different too - the hardwax sounds more like it, but I'm curious how different they are.

Yes, but off the top of my head (and these are not the right prices), in Halfords (which is not necessarily the cheapest place, but I happened to be in there at the weekend) the prices are roughly

250ml SR 8.00

500ml SR 11.00

1l SR 15.00

4l Radiant wax 22.00

So its not that expensive - but thats a lot of wax, and since they have several products that look interesting, by the time I have bought several cans I can see myself with enough wax for 10 years of detailing

It is something I have been thinking about, but I will wait for the spring before trying some. By then I will have much more experience with 3M & Meguiars so I can make a valid comparison.

From Autoglym Rep:

Radiant Wax is the same formulation as Super Resin Polish. It has a different name to enable us to differentiate between the professional and retail lines.

~Hope this helps~

That is curious, I emailed Autoglym about six months ago about useing Resin with my PC, they said it would not be suitable and to use the Pro range.

Maybe more profit in the Pro range ?

I put something in a thread a while back ref a BMW's cleaner advising that he'd his my swirls with AG paint renovator on what looked like a rotary. He did say he'd follow up with Radiant Wax so I guess it is a sealer. I'm sure other people here have applied AG SR with a PC successfully - can't see why this wouldn't work.

Perhaps profit might have something to do with it..?

Can't see it based on the price for Radiant wax, which is much cheaper then SR, so long as you don't mind that you have to buy it in bulk.
