armor all tire foam on wheel wells

I did a few quick searches and found out that alot of you use it on your wheel wells. I just wanted to make sure I had the right process down.

Should I just follow the directions for the tires?

The tires directions are to spray the sidewall and wait 5-10mins then rinse away.

Would that work for the wheel well as well? (I'm not taking off the tire)

Should I be scrubbing because it is pretty dirty? One of the mods said to get a bathroom type brush at Walgreens and use that to scrub since right now I don't have a specific wheel brush.

Wheel well dressings arent meant to hide dirt, I dont know if this is what the above poster was trying to express or not.

But the wheel wells should be clean prior to dressing. I cleaned mine really good at first, now I just simply spray them clean since there is no dirt stuck to the wheel wells. I usually spray the dressing in the wheel well and leave it on, but sometimes I get streaking if its the flexible plastic material on some trucks so then I wipe it down after about 5 minutes.

Amazing Roll Off from Autogeek is a nice product to clean tires/wheels/wheel wells with. You can dilute it alot and it still works great, I would highly reccomend it!

When cleaning and dressing the wheel wells how do you prevent the tire treds from becomming slick with proctectant or cleaner. Is it a problem is it somethign that wares off the tires in a matter of minutes after a drive? I cant image int would be advisable to having a oil slick on your rubber tires.

I never get the dressing onto the tire tread when dressing wheel wells. I use CD-2 Engine detailer so you can easily control where it goes - its just like spray painting, no foam or anything like that. If you are worried if yu got some on the tread I would take a clean old towel...and just wipe them down really good to make sure.

Or you could use a newspaper to cover the tire but back to my original question, can i use armor all tire foam on the wheel wells? if so, how exactly can i use it?

As the other members have said, you just spray it on after cleaning it thoroughly. Hm.. I should look into this tire foam next time. I've always wanted to find something to detail my wheelwells.

Im not a fan of the Foam for the wells, sometimes it drips off.

If you can, find a can of aerosol NoTouch Seriously Wet Tire Shine, it isn't a foam, so it sprays on nice and evenly with no mess.
