applying scratchx: foam pads vs terry cloth?

hi all

Following the Scratch X write up on the Meguiars forum, I have been trying to find some foam applicator pads (for use by hand.) I have only found some "sunrise" brand that are foam on one side and terry cloth on the other at a local Canadian Tire. The foam side of these look more like sponge than foam. I compared them to the foam pads that come with the M Gold Class wax, and the cells of the Sunrise brand pads are much bigger and more open than the Meguiars pad.

So will this pad be ok, or should I stick to terry cloth? Or should I hold out for a better foam applicator? Anyone in the GTA area know where I can find some?

hey

from everything that i gather and have tried so far ... terry usually gives you more "bite" and makes the whatever polish, scratch-x or whatnot, more polishing ability. Especially when working by hand, you can use all the help you can get. Yes, scratch-x is formulated for hand use, but i'd still go with terry. Even a folded terry towel will do. Foam just doesn't dig in as much and may leave you disappointed. Good luck!
