Anybody else not like Meguiars Bug and Tar removal?

So we tried out some ofmeguiars bug and tar removal the other day and was really disappointed with the results, admittedly the bugs appeared to be quite old but the first few applications didn't seem to remove hardly anything at all. We used a brand new 100% cotton TT as expected and still not very good.

Just wondering if anyone else had the same experience as for $25 or so a bottle it wasn't cheap to not get results.

Also I keep reading about Bug Squash as a recommended product or for pre-soaking, views?

Thanks,

Rich

Have the bugs etched the paint? If I'm not mistaken, this product is designed to remove fresh bugs, not something that has been left on for an extended period of time. Bugs can do some pretty serious damage to paint. Even more so when left on a long time.

You will most likely need to use something more aggressive like a polishing compound or a yellow bug brick/APC.

What did you end up using to fix the problem?

Yeah I think you are spot on, we did end up using some polishing compound which did the trick, was just surprised at the lack of effect the bug & tar remover had. Definitely only made for fresh stuff but I feel a good pre-soak would do the job for cheaper!

BTW, I spent a month in Detroit and LOVED IT, the most amazing communities and underground party culture, I was lucky enough to know a local otherwise I don't think I would've hung around as long lol
