Absolute Best Polish

After doing an exhaustive search, I haven't found anything helpful figuring the best polish out, most gloss, wet look, durability, just mostly random product vs. product stuff. I would like to see a poll of ALL the polishes ever used and what the best one was based on the many characteristics. To do this I need everyone to help me compile a list of the mainstream polishes on the market. So please... start listing away.. :xyxthumbs

P.S. - I'm going to keep this to strictly polishes, and not preps or waxes since I can't split the poll, and it would have to be a seperate thread.

Menzerna... Hands down.

I have tried Meguiar's, Gliptone, Poorboy's, Race Glaze, and Clearkote. In the end, Menzerna produces the most gorgeous shine.

Isnt this one of those loaded quesitons...ask 10 of us and you get 10 diffrenet answers.

I think the best polish is the onw that you like the best and gives you the best results

I would use Mezerna's polish specifically designed for ceramiclear paint that Merc uses. Then you can go from there.

These best polish/wax/glaze/etc. threads come down to opinion in the end. Confused as to what you mean by polish durability?

Doh!! :o I feel really stupid, I didn't see the "review" link up top. I tried searching and that left me unsatisfied. But the reviews, that's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks, and sorry for posting something so stupid. Mods, you can close this thread now.

Menzerna gets my vote. I just used Intensive Polish and then Final Polish before waxing. Car looks fantastic!:)

a polish is what you make of it, i personally think menzerna polishes are very good, But if you dont know how to work in a polisht to begin with its not going to do you any good to justify whats better based on opinions.

Yeah, just *so* many variables. What paint, what are you trying to accomplish, by hand or (by which) machine, experience level, etc. etc. I use completely different stuff on the Audis than I (usually) use on the Jag.

Termigator- They didn't rate the polishes, but they discussed them in a pretty good overview of paint prep in general.

I have the Menzerna PowerGloss, Intensive Polish and FPII. I LOVE Menzerna's polishes. Poorboys is nice too for a slightly easier use IMO, but Menzerna has the edge I feel!

When did they rate polishes?

They don't, but by the context of what he asked (i.e. gloss and durability) it was clear he meant LSP. I was just trying not to be nit-picky about his terminology because he is new. I'm sure he would be interested in the information in the report.

But thanks for clarifying. They don't rate polish. My bad.

I have to agree with GSRstilez on the Menzerna hands down thing. In my case as some of the folks here know, I have found the Menzerna ceramiclear polishes and will never go back. Do a search on PO85RD and PO106 and see what you come up with. I bet you will find a bit of info on them. Current favorites go like this:

--Menzerna PO85RD:bow

--Menzerna PO106

--Menzerna Final Polish II

--Menzerna IP

--Menzerna Power Gloss

Too bad. Would have loved to get a hold of that report too. I don't think they ever did come out with a second wax test like they said they would.:(
