What is up with people thinking that 56K can't handle pictures? I connect to DC all the time through my wireless phone and I've never had problems with picture load time. Obviously it is slower than with cable, but it isn't like a thread with a few pictures in it is going to choke someone on dialup. Your 2 meg pictures might, but those tick me off even when I'm on high speed. If the picture is larger than the forum then I skip it on dialup. If there are several large pictures that still fit on the screen then I have no problems.

People posting pictures should reserve the 'no 56K' warning for times when they are posting huge pictures and not just many pictures. Many pictures don't bother dialup users. Massive pictures that would cause problems for dialup users are probably ticking off cable users too, so just don't post those.

Your right jngrbrd maybe it needs to be added somewhere on the site, for us regulars we know because this topic comes up frequently but for new members this is something there not aware of, just an idea.

I have to agree that pictures so big that I must scroll to the right to read the words in the thread is very annoying. Always read them but will consider not reading them now. Knowing that there is an alternative.

I am no genius in IT but resizing was a simple matter to learn if one has a photo hosting website.

If you use imageshak. You don't even have to do anything there is an option to upload it at a specific size.

i'm not good witth computers so when i load some pics i have my wife/kids  do this for me. I'll ask them to resize the pics,I know this can be annoying and the subject continues to come up. its not like were asking a lot just some courtesy.

I did a post a while ago and I put in links to free resizing tools and I think 1 or 2 free hosting sites.

As long as the pics are in, it should be okay.
My 56k connection is just a freebie external add on, and they suppress from 45-50k, so it takes a while if there are 8-10pics.
