3M Imperial Hand Glaze

What is everyone's opinion on 3M Imperial Hand Glaze? I'm a rookie to detailing and my father-in-law recommended this.

Thoughts?

It's an excellent FILLING glaze but don't expect it to play well with a lot of sealants. I use it a lot on show cars that just need a show shine for a day or two and I top it with a Carnauba Paste Wax.

Back when I was just a lurker here (circa 2000 or so) IHG topped with Blitz brand wax was the hot combo. IHG isn't bad for use on fresh repaints, or for a quickie job like what Danase mentioned, but IMO it's generally used by people who don't/won't/can't correct problems instead of just hiding them (and regulars here know that I'm not strictly opposed to concealing so don't take that the wrong way).

We've come a long way since then....or have we? ;)

not an easy product to work this. Make sure you remove it soon enough (before it dries completely)

That's my recollection. I have an industrial sized bottle buried in the back of the detailing cabinet.

Heh heh, yeah...there's some food for though, huh? I'll be interested to see how today's perfectly corrected paintjobs are holding up in about five or ten years ;)
