303 Speed Detailer?

Ok, I just got an email from 303 touting a new product, 303 Speed Detailer. It sounds like more of a spray wax because it doesn't say anything about cleaning, but says it has "SPF 40" Sunscreen and that it repels dust, dirt, and stains.

Has anybody tried this and if not, who's going to be the guinea pig? If I know 303, it's probably just the Aerospace Protectant in another bottle, possibly diluted differently (it's about half the price of AP). BTW, do any of you realize that somewhere on their website they advocate buffing your car with 303 AP as an LSP?

First I've heard of the detailer, thanks for the tip off. I was aware of using 303 on paint and fiberglass along with dashboard, etc. I've never tried it on paint though.

Yeah, I recall that being there for a long time. I don't think the ad copy folks at 303 are aware of the Autopian view of products or the Autopian way. It looks to me that it was just another creative marketing point they decided to add along the way. No 303 Speed Detailer for me. I just got more "normal" QD so I am set for quite some time.

I first thought this was just 303 but it is a product.

What is the difference between 303 and many other brands? 303 always indicates an SPF number (marketing gimmick). If they sold water it would like have an SPF rating.

Oh, it DOES say something about cleaning on the bottle, funny it doesn't say that in the blurb. I don't know if you remember this, but on another forum someone said they had called 303 to ask what the difference was between the 3 or 4 different cleaning products they have and they were told it was all the same product, just diluted to different concentrations for different applications. That's what makes me think this is just 303 AP cut half with water.

Anyway, I don't think I'll be finding out since I have enough QD's/spray waxes/waterless washes to last me until at least 2019.

I went to the website to find out more about using AP as and LSP. I only found a reference to it being used on Gel Coat. Is that what you meant?

Also curious if anyone ever tried it.

Very interesting.

As Bill D alluded to, I don't think they take it very seriously, just creative marketing to try and increase the use/sales of an existing product. I'm sure it's better than nothing as an LSP, but we're not exactly the target market for that technique.
