Sorry for the wierd title...

Due to no fault of CMAs, my order was delayed an extra day (damn AMEX) and I find myself with the day off, my new car (unwashed at delivery, per my request) and my clay bar, ready to do some claying.

Problem - my order had the Klasse I was going to use.

Since I recently moved, and haven't had a vehicle worthy of anything better, all I have here is the clay, and a bottle of Zymol Polish.

I was hoping to clay the car today, and just Klasse it on Monday (after another wash, of course). Then I figured, I'd rather not just clay it and leave it that way.

Can anyone suggest a decent interim wax to put on after claying, that I'll just wash off with some Dawn and Klasse the car next week? Will the Zymol do (it's just a polish, of course) or should I grab some Meguiars for the few days it'll sit waiting.

Ugh - I hate UPS ground. Should've upgraded it (cheap bastard that I am).

Wouldn't matter so much - but we're having ridiculously warm weather here in NYC - 70 degrees right now. I know that next week - it won't even be close.

Dang it's a new car and you want it to look great. I'd clay it then use a <strong class='bbc'>nonabrasive[/b] wax to keep it looking great and protect it until you can give it the Klasse treatment. A couple of waxes that have good availability and fit the bill are Meguiar's #26 and 3M's Showcar Wax.

For only a few days, another idea is Meguiars Quik Wax. Spray on, wipe off, minimal protection but decent shine, and readily available for a few bucks.

I have not used RaggTopp.
I have used the 303 Aerospace cleaner and 303 Fabric Guard. The cleaner works well on all fabrics including carpet, I only use it as needed and normally just use the car shampoo (without any "wax" stuff).

The Fabric Guard works GREAT and lasts for months. I park outside at work and on a good rainy day the water is still beading on the canvas top after 9 hours, when I get home I blot up any remaining water and in the morning it's ready for another rainy day. It also made my black top look a lot less faded.

At first I applied it with the sprayer, but that didn't work well (it really didn't soak in and over-sprayed onto the paint), now I sponge it on rubbing gently to help it penetrate, let it sit for about a hour or so, then apply a second coat and let it dry overnight.

I've used the raggtopp cleaner. Does a great job. I didn't have a really dirty top at all, but it worked fine. Just be sure to put like a newspaper or something on the body of the car because when you spray the aerosol protectant spray it will get everywhere.
